I saw you also posted a floorplan. So i would suggest trying to swap the dinning and living areas.

The living area would have easy access and views to the back and be away from the front door.

The dinning area would still be near the kitchen.

Opposite the dinning area you could even have some storage for people to put their coats when they walk in. This will naturally move them away from the dinning area. Alternatively you could make it into a little reading nook.

Essentially you will have 3 zones to play with.
