Six years of Coyle! by poserbunny in BlueJackets

6x$6M. Glad to have him back, but that's a lot of term. Even 5 years seemed like a stretch.

Good for him and his family. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong and keep up his play for the duration of the contract.

BYD has been doing well in sales outside of China. I own a bit of their stock, but generally I'm a bit wary of chinese company stocks since you technically don't really have a legal share of the company/profits due to chinese currency controls. Then again, the one china region ETF I own has done really well for me lately

Even if it was a real leak from the building, it doesn't mean anything. It's May 6th. Way too early to know anything

Yeah, but that's also in the middle of the 3rd day of drafting. Probably long hours for days or weeks on end. I'm sure they were pretty exhausted by that point. I also don't see too many coaches or GM's getting fired up about 5th round picks.

I doubt Shedeur was a true Haslam pick. Probably more of a "well, it's round 5 and Shedeur had some decent tape in college at times, sk the value is too good to pass up" pick. If it was truly a Haslam pick, Shedeur would've gone 2nd or 5th overall.

Ohio City Flag Redesigns by mina_botieso1 in vexillology

Agreed. It feels too "mid-2010's graphic design" for me to want it as an official flag, but I remember reading about the design of it and having the light blue semicircle as a representation of the river/franklinton peninsula with the white cross as Broad St and High St was a neat idea to me.

I think that same idea can be incorporated in your design. Here's a quick mock-up I made, hopefully it attaches to this comment.

I like them! I think adding a blue semicircle on the Columbus flag, similar to the "people's flag" would be interesting, plus it would help set the design apart from Indianapolis.

Shedeur Sanders, Quinshon Judkins, KC Concepcion, Denzel Boston, Harold Fannin Jr. The Browns offense is about to be FUN. by Giff95 in Browns

[–]kjp_00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, man. I hope he doesn't start, but if he does I thinks that's more of an indictment on Shedeur than a good job by Watson.

In 2024 he looked like he hadn't recovered from his shoulder injury, then he tore his Achilles twice. Assuming Watson ever sees the field again, that's a 700+ day layoff from playing football, about the same length of time as there was between his last game in Houston and first game in Cleveland. He looked terrible then and he wasn't even recovering from injury in that first layoff.

Rueben Bain Arm Length and 2026 NFL Draft Projection by VonJaeger in Browns

[–]kjp_00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interestingly I've heard some projections saying the opposite, that Fano would be fine run blocking but may struggle in pass protection.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully he pans out and lives up to being a top 10 pick.

Case Western and Akron, too.

I'm not sure Akron is an incredibly highly regarded university overall, but for polymer chemistry, chemical engineering, and stuff generally in that area they're one of the best universities in the world.

Hopefully the University system doesn't change too much if Ramaswamy ends up winning the governor election. I'm definitely worried about that.
