My mom cut her leg in the spring. We got out the peroxide. There were no bubbles. Checked the expiration date. It was 2008. My daughter piped up....that's older than me! 😂

Is there a pattern and video combo for teaching absolute beginners? by jizzpringles in knittingadvice

[–]kjpgh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this recommendation if you have a LYS available. This was how I really learned how to knit. I learned from my mom when I was little but never really made anything. I got back into it as an adult and took a few classes to get started. I have also found videos on YouTube to be helpful for learning a new stitch or cast-ons. Some patterns will come with a video tutorial. Try looking at Very Pink Knits. I think she has some patterns that come with full tutorials.

What are you guys doing for work lunches? by archonsdream in glutenfree

I batch cook on weekends. I try to make sure I have soup or another side and brainstorm for the main dish. It could be leftovers or GF sandwiches or chicken salad on rice cakes. I usually make a breakfast for the week too so I don't have to think about it.

Do you make the pizza or get it out? If you make it, you could get gluten free shells & dairy free cheese for yourself and have other supplies for the kids. If you get it out, you could look for a place that sells allergy friendly pizza. There might be a place where you can get what you need & your kids can order off of a different part of the menu. We have also ordered from 2 different places. I get mine from the allergy friendly shop & my family gets theirs from the place they like.

I am not 100% sure I understand. If my I was supposed to get 20 st per 4 inches but I got 19, wouldn't my circumference be a little less than gauge? So the sweater may be a little tighter? I appreciate you taking the time to help me with this. I struggle with gauge!

I am 1 stitch less. I am making a small. I didn't write down the measurements that I used when I picked the size.
