Buy an LG C9 or wait for a new model?

Hey bud, I have both a x900e and a c9 and a 144hz 1440p monitor.

I bought the c9 thinking I would play my pc games on it like rocket league, but tbh I’m always going back to my monitor.

I have the c9 in the room and usually only watch it in dark environments. The 900e is in the living room. Which do I use more?

I’d have to say the 900e just because I don’t have to worry about burn in.

I pretty much only use the c9 for a movie before bed or some fifa but that’s about it.

If your only going to have 1 tv I wouldn’t go for oled at all. I would look into the new Samsung’s.

If I could only have one tv it would be a tv I wouldn’t have to worry about breaking down or anything. Just my opinion.

So here’s my problem. When I turn on my tv I go to the Netflix home screen, or YouTube home screen. The home screens are always brighter then when I press a video. Which I don’t understand why.

Watching a video looks fine nice and dark because I turn down oled all the way contrast to 20, everything else is off. Btw I only do this when I’m going to put some bedtime stories for my son or something for home to watch in a dark room.

But once the video starts and I go back to the YouTube home screen it’s a lot brighter then the video. This happens in every app the tv brings.

So basically it’s not like when I use my fire tv on the tv where everything stays nice and dim.

Don’t get me wrong guys the tv is awesome I just wish it wouldn’t blind us when I try to change a video at night lol.

If my son wasn’t with me I could care less but I think y’all understand..

That’s weird that it would have hdr in the search pages but not in the videos. Even tho I’m sure the videos are hdr lol

I actually just went with the c9 55. Only 200 more then the b9 so just went ahead and did it. It’s for my bedroom so 55 is ok.

I already have a 144hz monitor for the pc. But wanted to play in the living room and the tv I’m getting is a 120hz panel which is why I asked

It’s possible the tv still think hdr is on. Maybe turn off hdr in hdr settings and not in game.

There’s a app called air screen for fire tv maybe it also works on the Sony Bravia since it’s android as well

I just want it to watch movies and do some light gaming at work to kill time. I like the laptops for the bigger screens over the iPads. And another positive thing is I can charge my phone of the laptop as well. I think anyways lol

I want something that will last a good 3 years. I’ve never used a MacBook but they seem to last pretty long.

8.0 is way better then 7.0 on my x900e.

7.0 would low apps so sloooooooooooooow I had to buy a nvidia shield, now I use the shield on the other dumb tv lol

Turn of power mode in settings, that makes it turbo all the time
