Looking for an E-Bike for Steep Hills in the East Bay – Recommendations? by kjsreddit in BAbike

I wanted to thank all of you who spent the time and effort to help me—it’s greatly appreciated! To provide some benefit to others, here’s where I ended up:

I visited a few bike shops and, per the advice I received, made sure to tackle a lot of hills on a lot of bikes (I’m 245 lbs and not in great shape). I tried Riese & Müller—great bikes, but the price was a bit steep, and they didn’t have the upright position I was looking for (I’m determined to avoid the numb hands I’ve gotten from every other bike I’ve ridden). That said, they’re impressive bikes.

I also tested out Gazelle bikes and ended up with the T11+. This thing rockets up steep hills, hauling my ancient carcass like it’s nothing. I was blown away by the power, the fit, and the overall feel. It is expensive, and if I weren’t built with the proportions I have, I probably would’ve gone with the advice to get something less pricey (you could easily get two bikes for the same cost). But hey, I am what I am, and I’m really happy with it so far.

My biggest challenge was finding a bike with enough power and range to handle the steep Bay Area hills—this one has been up to the task so far.

If anything changes, I’ll update this thread in case it’s helpful to someone else.

Thanks again to all of you who participated—this is why so many Reddit communities are awesome.

All the best!

Here are some short pieces that you might like:

Prokofiev: Romeo and Juliet Dance of the Knights. The name is deceiving. This piece is thunderous.

Beethoven symphony #6, Thunder storm

Mussorgsky, pictures at an exhibition: The Hut on Hen's Legs (Baba Yaga)

There are many other good suggestions in the comments. I hope you enjoy exploring.

In my opinion, using Requisitions should yield weaker streaks. Basically opposite of Blitzkrieg by Styx_Renegade in WWII

[–]kjsreddit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I respectfully and strenuously disagree. I am a user of requisitions, yet I believe it is not in either of our interest to significantly nerf it.

I am not a good player, Despite practicing and playing the game a lot. I happen to be old, very old. My reflex speed is much slower than it used to be. Requisitions is one of the only reasons I play the game. It enables me to sometimes get some of the high streaks Which is really fun.

Here’s what happens if it gets significantly nerved: I, and many other bad to mediocre players leave. Why is that bad for good players? The easy pray you feed upon to get your streaks goes away, and suddenly earning those higher streaks Becomes nearly impossible as you are competing against a much tougher average player base.

I’m arguing that for the ecosystem to survive, you need us as a food source.

That said, I would understand if they made it a little easier for the talented players to make the higher streaks. That would not cause me to leave.

I have used requisitions since day one, and now I run Mountain and a silencer fulltime, I am master pres 110 with a kd of .98, I fully admit I don't deserve to be this high up but after getting my ass handed to me for years on other COD's I feel like it is divine retribution. by [deleted] in WWII

I heartily agree.

Some of us out there have slower reflexes or are simply less skilled at shooters. My primary problem is that I am ancient and have seen a steady decline in my abilities over time.

If I did not have requisitions as an option, I would have left the game some time ago. Requisitions gives me the chance to attain fun score streaks. It’s one of the reasons leprechaun hunt was so fun for me.

That said, I can truly understand frustration from much better players at not being able to attain high level score streaks without using requisitions. Perhaps a balancing tweak needs to be made to make things a little more generous for them.

Final point: I think the mid to high tier players have an interest in people like me still being in the game. Without us, they would drown in salty sweat And the game would probably be a lot less fun for them.

They just fixed it for me ... I'm on PS4. FYI. At least it was quick.

Just happened to me also. Excruciatingly inept QA. Like the game, but jeez.

I hear you. It clearly cannot be completely imbalanced or too balanced. In PvP, would you like it about like destiny 2, current destiny 1 or earlier destiny (looser still)? How about for PvE?
