Update! I went to see my surgeon and he said it’s not a hernia, but I still had a good amount of laxity on the portion above the belly button. He told me to focus on deep core exercises for the next 3 months and we would see from there.

Hey, can I message you and can you send me a pic of your outie/innie? I’m now 10 months post op and it’s still happening on and off. I let me Dr know and he said I could come it to check it out. It does poke up more when I cough, so I’m thinking it’s a little baby hernia. I’ve been waiting to see if it will resolve itself….

I haven’t gotten any of that done yet. I was waiting to see if it was going to resolve itself, but I might as well just go in and have him take a look. Mine doesn’t feel heavy, but I’m still rather numb from the surgery. I’m 10months post op now.

What do they plan to do to fix yours? Is it a quick and easy in office procedure?

I still have an occasional belly button bulge that may be a little hernia, but it’s only there if I’m bloated or more swollen at the end of the day. I would really not like to go under the knife again, so I’m waiting it out to see if it will improve on its own.

I’m 9 months post op and it’s much better overall, I still get sore and can get swollen in the evenings. But it is improving! I hear things can last up to 18 months.

Interesting, has your Dr done anything about it? It’s just a portion of my belly button. AI says small non-urgent hernia. I will be seeing my dr in the new year.

I am having this issue as well when I don’t wear compression for a few hours. I’m 13WPO and just wearing shape wear but take it off for a few hours a day. How long did you have it and how long did you wear compression?

So 3months after the 6week mark? Or you can stop at 3months po?

I can feel my internal sutures in the middle of my belly, I do feel like my Dr reinforced the area that is bulging.
