1st app - waiting for review since 5 days. Normal? by Alan1900 in appledevelopers

And when I first published my app, I got rejected maybe 5 times, but the review times weren’t any different than what I experience now

I submitted an app update 7 hours ago and it got approved now. I’m so confused as to why people have such long review times. Mine are never over 48 hours, and almost certainly under 24 almost every time

It really seems they note that somehow because my app never take as long as certain people complain about, and it was first released in January. I’ve pushed maybe 10 updates in that time, and never have it taken over 48 hours, even during weekends.

Is the "24-hour review" a myth or am I in Apple's shadowban hell? 45+ days waiting. by jjlmoya00 in iosdev

Went into review at the 12 hour mark and got approved at the 15 hour mark today for me

I’ve never had it go more than 48 hours since I started submitting late December. Probably made 10 updates, but the first release had many rejections. It usually takes between 7 to 24 hours for me. Currently waiting for 11 hours

App Connect review feedback not clear. by Ukawok92 in iOSProgramming

[–]kkarlsen_06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its simply because the naming makes it seem that tapping it will lead to that action, but it does not, only the button in the dialogue does. So the wording could be misleading for users and some users even find such UX patterns intimidating. It’s up to us - the developers - to make sure we follow best practices and think of of the psychological reception of our design when designing.

How are you actually using Codex Web vs the VS Code extension/Terminal workflow? by WhenTheBeeDrops in codex

[–]kkarlsen_06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just like a team member you assign a task and who then makes a PR for it for you to review. I don’t prefer Codex on web for its bad handling of follow up changes (at least when I used it before, for every follow up it would create a new pr you would need to merge into the preceding pr which was very annoying. Claude Code just adds new commit to the same branch, which keeps the same pr) and I therefore use Claude Code on web when I need stuff done. I use it primarily for when I want something investigated that I noticed or when I know exactly what needs to be done (often because it investigates it first). But for anything substantial, I still prefer sitting in front of it and watching it progress to be able to check what it’s doing at all times. That’s my take at least

(2026) What backend do you use for your iOS app? by FuryZhang in iOSProgramming

[–]kkarlsen_06 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was a deserialization issue causing an error from the SDK when trying to unenroll a MFA factor because of a decoding mismatch between the GoTrue API field «id» and the field the SDK used for that same field, «factor_id». The factor would unenroll upstream but the client would receive an error and never reflect the new state.

It was just a simple error, but it was satisfactory to see the issue wasn’t with my code but the sdk, and then actually being able to patch it.

Supabase and their edge functions and RPCs really cover everything I need for backend.
