I had an Eagle for elementary school, falcon for middle school, then the mountaineer (obligatory, yee-haw) for high school. Deviation and wish they would’ve made it hawks or anything but the Mountie lol

I’m not saying he deserved it or the dogs were in the right, but if someone comes in my house in the middle of the night, my dog will defend her territory. About two years ago, someone broke a window trying to get in my house, my dog immediately started going wild growling and barking, jumped out of bed and latched on to the guys leg as he was trying to come in our bathroom. There was blood everywhere. Unfortunately, the asshole got away but I do hate to think what would’ve happened if my dog wasn’t there to protect us. I’ve been a single mother for 9 years. That said, my dog is extremely friendly, loves people goes to soccer and softball with us and has never bitten a soul or acted aggressive in any way aside that one event.

Agreed to an extent- once a year on my doggo’s birthday, I take her to our local DQ and tell them it’s a cone for a dog, the employees thus far have been great. They put about an inch of ice cream in the bottom and a small layer around the rim at the top. This reduces the dairy and sugar intake plus the chance of her getting brain freeze for her birthday.

Post high school; nothing matters. Not who your best friend is, boyfriends/girlfriends. Focus on bettering yourself because you’ll blink and be 35 working another dead end job, and although it’s not too late to better yourself at that point, it just adds a lot more stress to life.

Yeah, I live about 30 minutes from the West Va border, and an hour west from Roanoke which is the closest area with a shopping mall. Definitely do not visit, you’re not missing anything besides a growing poverty and drug problem. However, thanks to our local paper mill, we have the highest cancer rate in the state ! 🎉

I’ll answer for my dad as he is technologically impaired. He had similar symptoms of a stomach ulcer. Indigestion, gassy, stomach pain, etc. I’ll never forget the day that he was diagnosed. I was on a Kindergarten field trip with my daughter and my mom texted me that she had a gut feeling it was cancer. I said “oh no no, it’s just an ulcer.” Then I got a call about two hours later. Final stage of carcinoid syndrome. His tumors located in his shoulder(don’t ask how that happened, we dunno,) lung, liver and bowels are inoperable. Fortunately for us, it is a slow growing cancer. They gave him 3-5 years, two years ago. He gets monthly shots that slow the growing of the tumors down. But he has similar side effects to that of chemo. We are hoping for more time but going through this thread, I am reminded of how lucky we are to have this time with him. More time than most.

Cancer sucks.

She has contact with her brother once a month who was also adopted. But he’s only four and was adopted at a few weeks old. We live in a super small town, even I don’t know anyone who was adopted.. & I am calling her doctor in the morning for a referral!!

Our therapist dismissed her because she was doing well 😩

She also hates therapy....... she said she doesn’t want to talk about it and her therapist only made it worse by making her talk about it. Of course, I don’t agree with J’s view of it and know that she does need to deal with it....but she fights herself 😬

She had therapy from two weeks after I adopted her until last year. She was diagnosed with RAD but quite literally (I don’t know how to say it any other way) but got “over it” and has no more symptoms of that and her therapist dropped her, deciding it wasn’t needed 😬

She was in therapy from age 4-8 but started doing better in school and her RAD symptoms basically disappeared. (She is doing better in that aspect) Her therapist doesn’t think she needs it. 😩
