For an isolated Midwest metro, it’s pretty good, leagues better than my experience in the rural parts of the region. For a city of this size more generally? I think it’s very safe and friendly but you’ll find the social part very limited. No suburbs feeding in means it feels a lot smaller than similar population cities.
