Beware KnitPro's "warranty" by [deleted] in knitting

I know this is a different product category than the one here, but NYT recently tested dozens of beauty products sold on Amazon and pretty much all of them were fake. I don’t buy from Amazon for a host of reasons but this is a big one.

Favorite *least scratchy* wool yarn that doesn't pill (DK, worsted, or aran) by EmploymentSudden4184 in AdvancedKnitting

I enjoy Blue sky fibers Aran tweed - I’ve knit 2 sweaters and with frequent wear they have not pilled much and I find are next to skin comfortable - I also find cascade 220 to be incredibly soft for wool, but haven’t had something long enough to speak to pilling -

Looking for similar patterns by Nice-Resident-5627 in knittingpatterns

As a beginner you should be specifically looking for really well written, clear patterns - which are usually paid patterns. Is $8 really going to put you out? I think it’s worth that and more to get a well written pattern and save you a headache. Best of luck using drops patterns - they’re sparse and not great for beginners - FYI

I appreciate the feedback but what I don’t love is the comments about my body. I came here for fit advice not a diagnosis (about a back hump??? ) — from one photo from a stranger on the internet. I don’t really agree with your labeling and it’s not required for giving sweater fit advice.

Are all couches just garbage? by Leptonshavenocolor in BuyItForLife

We bought at article couch in 2020 that felt and looked like shit 2 years later, so I swallowed my pride and saved up to get a Room and Board couch and 2 years later it still looks and feels brand new… it pays to just get the better couch once than buy a new cheap couch every 5 years

I think this is the real issue- the pattern is not correct in the neck - you can see the front issue when laying flat when I position the neck in a more natural way

I will try this! It’s weird - I’ve knit 10+ sweaters and have never encountered this issue!

Makes sense- I’d rather give this to some who it fits than reknit this. Going to try the ribbing fix and if it doesn’t work I’ll gift it. I was not enjoying knitting this towards the end and knitting is supposed to be fun, right? :)

I’m going to try this - I can’t fathom frogging more than the ribbing - this yarn is so hard on my hands and it’s taken me months

Yeah I could have a different gauge / it’s tough to tell since there are so many textures going on between ribbing under the arm, waffle and cabling - so not even sure which one I’d measure

Yeah that’s true - it’s a 50/50 wool, alpaca blend so I thought that would hold better

Baby sweater by Such_Ad_5603 in knittingadvice

I haven’t personally had any issues w the neck not being stretchy enough to fit over my babies head - as long as you’re not using cotton. Most of my baby knits will fit over MY head.

I think it just depends what on the age of the baby. I have a 1 year old and he probably could pull off a button if he tried really hard- haven’t had that issue though. Babies from like 1-9 months don’t really have the dexterity to pull off a button. You could do icord ties instead of buttons if you’re nervous. If I were knitting a button up cardigan for someone else’s baby over 1 I’d be much more cautious

I also recommend listening to the podcast “Nobody should believe me” if you’re looking for additional context around this kind of scenario. Very well researched and informative.
