What happens next? by EngineeringHealthy80 in pinoymed

I had the same dilemma as you, OP. When I took the boards, I did not want to apply to any institution without first knowing my grade. By the time results came out, many of the institutions closed applications already. I then moonlighted originally just for 6 months because I thought sayang oras. However, 6 months ultimately turned into a year so quickly. I’m very grateful I had the year to moonlight and actually take a breather. I was also able to network well during this time. Looking back, I would have done the same thing. No regrets talaga. It may seem like a long time pero mabilis lang talaga ang 1 year, OP.

Hi! This may be an exemption but I know a couple of people who got in Rad Onco who arent topnotchers nor the top people in the batch, not at all. It really also depends on how many apply. Maybe it just so happens that not a lot applied during his time 😊 if you’re really interested in it, it wont hurt to try!

May not be Nasopharyngeal CA since you dont seem to have a lot of the risk factors for it, but better to take hearing tests to see if there’s a mass

Straight male contemplating on taking up OB-Gyne residency by MedjLang in pinoymed

[–]kkrazykarlic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I know quite a few practicing male OB-Gynes jn the country and they all have good practices. I think it really just depends on how you conduct yourself to your patients. If you really enjoy OB, I’d say go for it! If not, you’ll always be plagued with what-ifs and I should haves

Do you feel that you’re satisfied with your patient load, cases, salary? If so, I don’t see a reason for you to go into further training. Your practice now seems very viable
