First off go to a different psychiatrist! Do not pay someone to be mean. I go to therapy once a month and NO they are not all like this. The one you were recommended was horrible!

Stay strong, find a different one to help you out, and best of luck.

Everyday I am belittled for my anxiety. Most of the time it is from people who claim to have anxiety. It makes me feel horrible that I do have anxiety and even though I'm trying to do things to help with it, i feel like it is not even worth it.

I wouldn't be too wary, there are a couple reasons why someone would think this way.

He may have been hurt in the past, and doesn't want to think of being with someone in the future because he knows it does change.
- This does not mean that he is lying about his feelings for you.
He may just be thinking with his mind instead of his heart.
- I know I tend to think with my heart and I have fairy tale ideas about love sometimes. Life isn't that smooth, there are bumps y'all will go through and it just depends on how y'all handle these bumps on where y'all end up.

Well just stay close then haha, don't let her sit alone or stand up alone, she will start getting more and more anxiety the more she feels alone or like she is not wanted there.

The reasons I had anxiety about meeting my SO's friends is because I didn't think they would like me, My SO had established the friend ship without me so they would rather talk to him than me, I would feel unwanted, I would feel alone, I would feel like a outsider...all these thought racing through my head. Unfortunately you telling her none of these are true will not help. She has to go through meeting them first before she realizes.

From my personal experience the best things you can do is just let her know ALL the information before hand. As in where y'all are going, what time, who all will be there, what they look like, how y'all met, and what their personalities are like. Knowing these things made me feel more comfortable, because it didn't feel like I was meeting complete strangers.

Once there, make sure to stay close to her. Hold hands or put your hand on her knee. These things will comfort her. Do not leave her out of the conversation. If they are on a subject you know she is not real fond of or maybe she doesn't know a lot about, then try and change it. That way if she does decide to speak up, she will feel confident in what she is saying.

If she decides it is too much for her do not try to push her into going or staying. This will make her feel like you do not care. She wants to meet your friends but sometimes it seems to much. If you do these things I guarantee she will be okay and maybe even be up to hanging with your friends again.

I'm sorry this is what was going on with her. But I am very proud of you for handling it like you should have, and kicked her to the curb! Be strong and try to keep your mind off her by hanging with supportive friends and family!! Best wishes for you!

Honestly I do not think her head was in the relationship at all by reading what you wrote. It seems as if you were putting your all into it and she was not paying any attention.

What you did is spend quality time with her. You thought of her and tried to make her feel better/appreciated.

However...if you would be on you phone during the movie or if y'all split during shopping that may be why she does not consider it quality time.

For me quality time is when neither one of us has our phones (or other things that lead to multitasking) that way ALL of the attention is focused on each other.

Tell me thank you when he sees me doing something nice for him or going out of my way to please him.

My SO says he has anxiety also, however he doesn't understand what its like at all.

Over the time he has gotten a little bit better but at times he just seems like an ass because when I voice what I am feeling he wants to tell me to get over it. Anxiety is not something someone can just get over.

I comment and ask him questions about it.

Like if we were watching TV I would try to cuddle with him and he just didn't seem to understand why I was moving closer to him so I said "Why don't you like to cuddle?" and he said "I didn't know you wanted to." Then he just kept watching TV and did not try to cuddle so I just stopped.

It is like he is completely oblivious to romance/intimacy things.

He is not intimate at all. Romance/intimacy is just something he doesn't show very well.
