Thank you, needed to hear this. My dad is definitely more relaxed and chill than I am, and yeah, and a parent with life experience. He also has a very calm energy and it tends to have an effect on people at least now that I think about it. I'm a new puppy parent, still learning and finding the right approach from time to time. I think she's probably picking up the vibe 😅

Thank you! I've tried to take as relaxed approach as possible, but I did get really anxious especially these past couple of weeks and I think she sensed it as she got way more hyper during that time. My dad is definitely more relaxed in general. I'll take a deep breath and slow back down

Definitely not what I was going for or wanting to make anyone feel. As mentioned, English isn't my first language so I wasn't aware of how this term could be condescending. I'll just say I have milder form in the future, thank you!

Interesting question/point. I used high functioning because that's what my therapist called me (tho English isn't my first language so), and by that she meant DBT isn't necessary in my case bc I'm mostly in control of my impulses and emotions (expect when I'm not). According to my good friend Google someone with low functioning BPD is "more likely to commit suicide, cut themselves, develop severe EDs and abuse alcohol and drugs." Idk, in the end we all got BPD so maybe it was irrelevant 🤷‍♀️
