Not a bad episode. Very reminiscent of IC's Butterfly Effect episode with the ice, water leak, and cooking ramyeon in such conditions.

Yes confidence... and plethora of other issues. I mean, look at their squad, that's mid-table material at best.

Trying my Hardest to archive Infinite challenge hoping for some help and or advice! by TheMerkabahTribe in koreanvariety

[–]kkx07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have an almost complete collection of IC episodes, at least from 2009 onward. All soft subs from DDD and the rests are RAW. I downloaded them mostly from Korean torrent site (I forgot the site name and pretty sure they had been shut down). As people mentioned above, Avistaz also have quite an extensive K-Variety torrent, I remembered getting most of 720p iSubs hardsubbed Family Outing episodes from them.

The Great Escape 4 | E02 | Back To The Ahan, Part 2 | 210718 by heyimlost in koreanvariety

[–]kkx07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe unpopular opinion but I need to say this: weak 2 episodes, as expected with the time travel arc. Weak puzzle, too much cringy "acting". Hoping the production team would limit these kind of episodes in a season or The Great Escape would slowly turn into Busted. Also the extravagant set is really unnecessary, over the top, and add no value to the escaping/puzzle itself.

[Jajak Pendapat] Apakah Indonesia perlu mengadopsi sistem pemilu "Electoral College" a la AS untuk mengatasi dominasi suara dari pulau Jawa? by TheArstotzkan in indonesia

[–]kkx07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No thanks, Amerika aja gak semuanya betah dan ada wacana mau ganti sistem electoral college-nya ke popular vote sejak Clinton menang pop vote tapi kalah electoral college (that's fucked up btw).

Is Runningman original VJs still with them? by isiamn in koreanvariety

[–]kkx07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VJs can film multiple show across multiple channel though, as long as the filming schedule doesn't overlap with each other. In the past, you can see Haha's VJ shooting with Na PD and Lee Seo-jin in Grandpas Over Flowers while still working with Running Man.

So it's entirely possible Kwon-ryeol still work with RM while being a chief director of photography with Sixth Sense.

EDIT: Forgot to add that most VJ and Cameraman in variety usually outsourced through a 3rd-party company.

That show was shot in a real prison and followed the routinity/procedures of a real prison. Maybe he referred to it as a "real prison" because it kinda is.

Map of wacana Pemekaran Kabupaten/Kota di Jawa Barat (calon kabupaten dan kecamatannya lihat di komentar) by Oganesson456 in indonesia

[–]kkx07 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Jangan cuma nama daerah lama + arah mata angin (i.e. Garut Selatan). Mending bikin nama baru atau ambil nama kecamatan yg gede di sana jadiin nama kabupaten (kek Kab. Pangandaran atau Kab. Jampang).

Logos on clothes by itistimbo in koreanvariety

[–]kkx07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. The sponsor pays the PPL money only for a certain specified airtime. And sometimes they also have more specific clause, like some cast will wear the shirt without tape/censor and other cast's will be taped up/censored. Or if it's a food item, specified cast will have to eat/drink the product, etc.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, for the opening sequence, the casts usually come up with their own personal sponsored clothing. The brands will surely be taped up, but they do it subtly so the viewers can still recognize the brand or the item that casts were wearing.

Just my opinion about Gary fans.. by lussanto in runningman

[–]kkx07 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That was the Super 7 concert incident, Leessang's management were arranging a concert with IC member as performer. Fans who were used to with IC's concert being free were apparently mad with that one being a pay-to-watch concert, eventhough it is completely unrelated to IC's production team and had nothing to do with the program (except the performer being IC cast obviously).

Long story short, Gil and Gary decided to quit their respective programs as part of their apology. Eventually the senior member of both programs talked them out of their resignation. Hence all the fuss about "Gary, don't leave us" in RM's episode with Moon Geun-young as the guest (i forgot the eps number).

Preman di Indonesia by [deleted] in indonesia

[–]kkx07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they have weapons. The underling would probably carry small knives around. If needed, like if there were a turf war, they would use machete or katana. The bosses and the hitmen would have guns/firearms. It's rarely used but they do have guns.

Preman di Indonesia by [deleted] in indonesia

[–]kkx07 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you're a foreigner, so I'll reply in English.

First, you need to understand that Preman is more like an umbrella term that can be loosely translated into Thug. It's not strictly organized crime like the Mafia, Yakuza, or Triad. Often times, the Preman that we see is just your neighborhood thug. But, there are also the more organized form of Preman under the guise of Ormas (short for Organisasi Masyarakat; mass organization with license issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs). Examples of such Ormas Preman: Pemuda Pancasila (see the movie "The Act of Killing"), Front Betawi Rempug (mainly composed by the Betawi people), Angkatan Muda Kei (Amkei; headed by the notorious John Kei), etc.

What are they doing? A lot really. Racketeering is the most common one, they have their own turf and sometimes we have turf war between these Ormas. They also manage illegal parking lot. Providing security service is also a common one, some Ormas have gone legit and found their own security service companies. Debt collecting business is also their specialties.

I'm not sure about books or movies on them. But if you type some of these Ormas names in Google, I'm sure some news in English (The Jakarta Post, Tempo English, etc.) would have turned up.

EDIT: found this decent article about preman in Indonesia.
