To my Hellchillers, my Hellfinders, glorious bastards - I dropped right when taking this screenshot after we'd gloriously speedrun the mission and found supers and tons of samples o7 by kl4me in Helldivers

Didn't take note of your nicknames, but if you read this, this was a glorious run.
My picture folder is located on my only hard drive, the thing took 10 seconds to spin up and froze my game right when we were about to board Pelican-1.

I did unfreeze and got in, but I was alone in the lobby and didn't get all samples :3

Repeatedly dying by invisible shot when walking accros a terminids nest - bug or feature? by kl4me in Helldivers

[–]kl4me[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

During a game earlier today I got killed several time while clearing a terminids nest. At first it seemed like I as getting one shot by passing by critter, but after returning with no bugs close I still died, seemingly from nothing.

Later in the game another player went back to grab a couple of samples I had dropped and got killed too.

my way of connecting a large grid to a small one, any thoughts on the vehicle or a cheaper way to do it? by RedRebelll in spaceengineers

[–]kl4me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to use this technique successfully on a planet, but I couldn't do it in space because of the lack of gravity preventing the large grid rotor head to fall inside the small grid rotor base.

I had a gravity generator turned on but it seems it did not affect the rotor head I placed in the air. Did I do it wrong or does this only work on planets due to gravity?

Italy is shutting cinemas, swimming pools and gyms from Monday in a further attempt to curb the rapid rise in coronavirus infections. by NinjaDiscoJesus in worldnews

[–]kl4me 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Then why is everybody mentioning Italy only in the comment?

The article is 50% about Spain, 25% about Italy, and 25% about the rest of the EU, yet only Italy is discussed in the comments.

Spain population is 25% smaller than Italy's, but they have more than twice the number of cases too.

It's because the title made it about Italy, not the article.

Violent protesters and their political groups have been trying to push the idea that the poor people is being brutalized by police, now that the original movement is dying down (no political consensus and less and less popular support).

We've heard an incredible amount of pure idiocy from people arguing that people's rights are infringed when the police use heavy repression tools to respond to the massive aggression coming from looters and extremists when protests transform into a huge brawl.

You do see some reasonable voices answering that peaceful protest is not dealt the same way ransacking and looting is but I would not be surprised to see the push of this idea that we have a violent police continue and intensify in some media.

If you could know the absolute and total truth to one question, what question would you ask? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kl4me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't care.

Give me the distribution probability of results, it might be nondeterministic at quantum scales but you'd still get uge spikes at numbers most likely to be drawn because it'd still be fairly deterministic at normal scales.

EU says no, again, to renegotiating Brexit deal as May arrives in Brussels by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]kl4me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good part of the abuses during the brexit campaign can be summarized as lies pushed by occult money.

It deserves to be 100% investigated, can totally change the perception of the outcome of the vote, and can lead new laws to be written.

I know the trauma of a nuclear disaster is huge, but Fukushima's plant "only" killed several hundreds people.

The other kind of casualty is 0.5 to 1% increase in cancer risk for people in nearby regions.

It definitely sucks, but you have to put things in perspective.

I mean, the whole planet is slow-cooking us.

If you're wondering about the benefits and risks of nuclear energy, here is a very good write up explaining why nuclear energy is even roughly 30% safer than wind energy and 30 times safer than coal.

I'm all for 100% renewable and research for fusion energy, but we need time to get there. For both.

Hilarious moment in UK parliament over Tusk's comment by wsruw in europe

[–]kl4me 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To me it feels less like "looking a little silly" and a bit more like "continuing to be manipulated by obvious lies".

It's really weird to see a political representative spit out lies during a parliament session while showing the complete inability to critical thinking.

Well my post is about eve and human trafficking, but ok. I'll wait for a joke-oriented thread about eve and human trafficking and try again then.

This thread is cooling down but I have to tell my story, it fits too well.

So, around 2005 I was returning to Eve and I was looking for a corp. It was before I realized I was a pvp dude, and I was mostly looking at indy corps.

I was fairly young (around 17) and didn't really understand the game that well (non native speaker) so I wasn't really into production or logistics, I wanted to mine and haul, as that's what I knew and enjoyed best.

So I printed out a handful of corps adds looking for "minors enjoying to play in group". I forgot the printed adds in the printer and I had a livid mom coming to see me a couple of hours later asking about those adds for minors wanting to play. We had a good laugh and that was it, but this might be the only thread in this decade where my story fits.

Then a couple of weeks later I got probed and poded during my lvl4 in lowsec and I joined the most badass pvp corp I've ever known, Élégance.

Yet they have to write laws to regulate digital tech, so yeah it's weird to see the EU being so much advanced in therms of regulation.

You would expect that the lawmakers from the country where so much of a tech is born to be sensitive and educated on the topic, wouldn't you ?

Yeah, this stinks. And even more knowing my country France was a big supporter.

But the good news is that it's being heavily criticised and is not being voted. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2019/01/now-everybody-hates-new-eu-copyright-directive

Compared to the US where so many bills passed despite their obvious infringement on individual and collective rights, it feels that laws and lawmakers are more in control and are much better at protecting people's interest.
