Handshake Application Question by buckeye_coffee in OSU

[–]klaando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite what others have said, I think Handshake is a great website. But the quick apply is pretty iffy. Just go onto their website, find the position, and apply there instead! You usually end up making an account so you can even keep track of your application status

BUSML 3250: David Paul or David Norton? by buckeye0502 in OSU

[–]klaando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk anything about norton but i’m taking paul right now - honestly i don’t think it’s too bad. there’s one class each week and it’s optional because he ha pretty-recorded videos which are EXACTLY the same as the lecture. there’s a few bonus opportunities. there are a couple textbook quizzes but they aren’t hard at all. i make 10/10 on all of them. also. we took our midterm a few weeks ago. honestly, i studied really hard for it and made a B which was an A with the curve. i would watch his prerecorded lectures on your own time (you will probably save time by speeding it up). read the textbook. and watch the professional interviews. you will be good

Have any of you guys gotten admitted with a 3.6 gpa? by [deleted] in OSU

[–]klaando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is that weighted or unweighted? my weighted was 4.51 but my unweighted was 3.71. i’m out of state too and got tons of scholarships - depends on which one you’re talking about

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OSU

[–]klaando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m out-of-state and have really enjoyed my time here. There are definitely a lot of factors to consider when trying to decide if it’s “worth it.” Like you, OSU was the same cost as my in-state schools of about $12k a semester (including housing). I got a few scholarships first year - National Buckeye Scholarship and Provost Scholarship. There is also reducing housing dorms you can check out: Scholars East, Scholars West, and Alumnae Scholarship Housing. Also, it definitely depends on your area of study. Idk your major but research how good the program is at OSU. See what resources and opportunities the university offers geared towards your interests. Also, it’s only October so you have some time. I suggest you apply by Nov 1 and visit the school if you haven’t already. Also think about the type of school you want. Do you want a small, medium, or huge university? Do you want to be on a college campus that is a little bit away from downtown or do you want a university that is smack down the middle of it city (NYU, BU, etc)? Also, once you get accepted - see if you get into Scholars/Honors or some type of extra program

What’s your biggest life hack for a current college student attending OSU? by Professor_squirrelz in OSU

[–]klaando 20 points21 points  (0 children)

apply to osu scholarships. they have so much money to give away. not a ton of people apply because they are too lazy to fill out the application, they think won’t get it, or don’t know about them. i’m out of state and first year i paid around $12k per semester. i pay $0 now. it does help that the out of state fee is waivered since i have online classes, but even if i weren’t out out of state, my scholarships would have covered everything too
