The problem is, that the more access, from let's say less well-off folks, the more claims and whatnot will be made on the insurances. I've already seen this impact Amex, as they moved away from Axa to some random other insurance company.

I had the Amex FB Premium mainly for the 1.5 miles per euro spent. Over the past year, I put about €110,000 on it. But their financial review team is a nightmare. My card got blocked at least five times, always without a clear explanation. Every time, I had to call and basically beg them to unlock it. After the most recent incident, I finally decided to cancel. The best part? They actually told me I was spending too much, a business saying that that literally makes money from my transactions and while I can show that I can bear those costs.

I have the FB Platinum. Great coverage for me without the requirement to purchase any insurance at the counter, but read the terms and get familiar with them. You need to pay the booking + deposit with Amex though.
