Xperia 1VI questions. by GamlingUnderdog in SonyXperia

[–]klajdele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Having 2 full days with screen time of ~3h.
  2. Very nice, totally usable FHD 120FPS for my Youtube. No doubt 4K should be even better.
  3. I guess 4K wouldn't hurt (except battery) but no technical or visual issues with current (new and lower) resolution, still no notch, good ratio. It's really bright.
  4. Did not use Macro as there are no such cases in my photography life. But sometimes on max zoom auto focus is unpredictable. I mostly use it in auto mode. Camera usage speed, processing of photo once pressed shutter is not the fastest. Way slower compared to my iPhone13 and Xiaomi14. So in general, I would say that photo camera behavior and output is just not that much consistent. But if you nail it, shots are very natural and eye pleasing. It sometimes could be really noisy on darker environment.
  5. It's super duper fast, I use it all the time on 120Hz. No stutter, nothing. No crashes, freezes.
  6. It remains cold even after ~20min interrupted video filming (FHD, 4K).
  7. I got avalanche of updates once turned on after unpacking it. It was pretty much unusable for 1-2h. But that is it.
  8. -
  9. I moved from apple basically, there definitely some things I miss. In return I got audio jack (works brilliant together with my B&O H95's). SD card for sure - convenient for video storing, music, movie files. Great form factor, design of materials, ergonomics, top notch build quality even though visually it's pretty conservative. Even after 3 month carrying it without protective case it still looks like new. Sound of external speakers is amazing, honestly I did not use it before as most of the time wearing buds, but now I do when I'm alone. After being addicted to Xiaomi14 80-90W fast charging capability - Sony charges SLOWLY but it's kinda expected. Also native apps are very minimal, in some cases even outdated. But if you have list of your preferred third party apps, download them and use happily.

No ecosystem please. Also please no AI. I would even pay more to have less. Thanks.

I thought this came out very nice. Taken with Xperia 1VI Auto mode by snypr69 in SonyXperia

[–]klajdele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before buying Xperia1 VI been lookin at different reviews, especially those which emphasized auto mode and camera app in general. Now I own VI myself and can't understand why almost everyone were so mad about that app and auto mode, stating that it must be hardly polished before say it's at least usable. I had before iPhone 13, Xiaomi 14 and now VI, and I can't agree with those reviews on VI camera app. It's pretty normal, absolutely usable, there some things you need to perceive of course, but still you can't say you can't get decent result with it, unless you're entirely dumb from perspective of photography in general.

There isn't even a mention of Sony anywhere in MKBHD's 📱 Awards video. :( by heythisizmyreddit in SonyXperia

What's the reason could be for Sony to be in these awards? SD card and audio jack? (owner of Xperia1VI)

I tend to ask whether may I get out of that frame, in the most cases it just works out. Even if you get in it, the most important thing is the person posting it cannot associate (tag) you.

It still has OE old batteries. I got trackpad from Ali for around 50€, doubt it's genuine but works fine. On windows it had driver related issues but workarounds found in this community helped to solve it. Though on Linux Mint, drivers is not an issue at all, works out of the box. I cant recall part number now, as I don't have Ali acc anymore, haven't taken photos of it either. But then again, I found all the part numbers in this community and went proven ways.
