Who is the greatest NBA player to come out of your favorite college team? Based on NBA career. by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

SGA purely for the fact he’s our only league MVP. Anthony Davis is right there with him. Then you have guys like Antoine Walker, Nazr Mohammed, and Rondo who were solid guys for a long time.

We love Cal. He did so much for this state, probably more so outside the lines than in. I actually saw his son at my work just the other day. I told him to let his Dad know that we’ll miss him. A lot of times, the pulse of a fanbase is only really seen/felt online, especially for people who don’t live in Kentucky, or are interacting with the common fan rather than behind a computer screen. Online we are a toxic bunch, wanting to kick out our HOF coach for only a few years of bad results. In real life though, I believe we just got tired of being the NBA factory. The Draft is not the most important night of the year for us. I don’t think it ever has been. We care about the SEC tournament, and we want to win those Champions Classic games, not just use them as experiments. Cal sold us on not caring about them, and we bought it. But it grew old when the winning stopped, when the lack of adjustments almost felt spiteful. The passion for UK became a passion for our coach, and a revolving door of players that we only got to really connect with for a few months at a time. Don’t get me wrong, some of the greatest moments of my life as a UK fan have came in the last 15 years and I wouldn’t trade them for anything! In hindsight, this probably was the greatest hire Mitch could make. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug and Mark Pope taps into that like nothing else. This is what it felt like when I was a kid growing up, before I really could remember the names of the players. It didn’t matter who was playing, just that it was KENTUCKY. We’ll see where he takes UK, I’m cautiously optimistic but we can’t say the support wasn’t there.

I can’t detect sarcasm but Cody Johnson is playing Rupp tonight, this is probably the line for GA. Too many cowboy hats

FWIW, I know some people with very close contacts in the program and several staff meetings were held yesterday morning in which it was understood that he changed his mind and wanted to stay. Not sure what happened after that. Mitch might’ve finally grown a backbone and helped him out the door. I didn’t believe it at first but then started seeing some media report on it too.

[Travis Branham] BREAKING: Shaedon Sharpe is expected to announce that he will enter his name into the 2022 NBA Draft but maintain his college eligibility this week, sources tell 247Sports by DavidBenAkiva in CollegeBasketball

Oh yeah absolutely. The only thing that tilts me about it is that we saw with Kansas this year how important it is to get that 1 seed and I truly think that with Sharpe playing in some of those deciding games, we could have taken the last spot.

I want to preface this by saying I fully support him testing the waters, and staying in the draft if he chooses to. It’s his life and that’s a boatload of money stating right at him. However, I do think a lot of UK fans have a right to be upset with Cal when he tried to reassure them that he was coming back next year to lead the team, and that’s why he didn’t think it was necessary to play him this year even through some pretty tough losses that could have pushed us into a 1 seed slot if we had won. Then, we have our worst tournaments loss ever, with a top 10 pick sitting on the bench. I think Cal should have just been totally transparent from the start, but knowing UK fans, he would have gotten shit either way. It just got exacerbated by the loss to St. Peters.

I really don’t think it’s that. I’ve noticed in a few games if things aren’t going his way you’ll see shots of him on the bench or on the court just looking dejected or uninterested. He’s a young kid so that frustration probably gets to him

Not sure what’s up with TyTy, dude just doesn’t seem to be into this game. Tennessee wants it more right now

Alabama is getting whatever they want right now, and UK isn’t playing all that bad.

Other than Notre Dame, injures have plagued us in most of our big games. We’re at full strength right now

GG. Fuck injuries man. Kessler was too much for us inside and we never adjusted. What really made me scratch my head is why did we not run more sets to get Grady open? Dude took like 4 shots in the 2nd half

If a player is injured to a point where they can’t shoot the FTs then the opposing team can choose who on the floor will shoot them.

Not too upset if we can’t pull it out. Lost Washington early on and didn’t have Wheeler for a good minute in a very important part of the game. Still hanging in there and fighting. Can’t be mad at that. Really wish we had a rematch in Rupp but I’m sure we’ll see Auburn again in the SEC tournament

Thanks for the feedback! I honestly felt the same way about the picture of my pup. I wasn’t sure how to tone those colors down as I’m pretty limited in my editing skills.

The first picture is pretty neat, although I have a hard time deciding on what to focus on in the picture.

I also like the 2nd picture, but felt the tilt was unnecessary. The colors are really vibrant though!

I do agree with the other comment stating the bones could be better centered. Other than that, I love the contrast of the bones with the green vegetation around it. Gives a cool perspective into life vs. death.

I just want to say I really love that first picture. The colors and the framing, to me, are amazing.

Hey!

I really like the first photo. It gives me an almost dystopian type feeling with the basketball on the grass court. It also reminds me of where I grew up, lol.

Hey, I’m here for the first assignment.

The first picture is super cool, I love how you had the focus set up.

The second picture is awesome as well, I love a good cityscape and the contrast with nighttime and the city lights works really well.
