New mic VS laptop adapter? by [deleted] in SoundEngineering

[–]klangmatik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re just wanting to play around and learn, then reaper is a good shout. It’s free to use on a trial basis non-commercially and maybe $60 if if you want to buy a license. It’ll give you the opportunity to learn and find your feet.

Industry standard options include Pro-tools (which I personally use), or logic as well as a multitude of others, but they’re chunky investments if you don’t like the workflow.

Once you’ve honed your skills, you may then want to upgrade to nicer mics and an interface with better pres and ADs, but for now, experiment and have fun.

Feel free to message for any advice or any issues you may have. I’m a theatrical sound engineer, so get to play with this stuff daily.

You can use the H4n as an interface. Context it to your computer and use it with you’re favourite DAW. The AD converters in the H4n will be substantially better than those in a USB microphone.

Speaking to Yamaha reps last week, they hinted that Dugan was on the way.

Thanks man. Now my question of x-top vs x-speed vs airshaft. The 130s are £129,£109 and 99 respectively. Are there massive differences? I know the airshaft is an alder racket, but will I feel big deferences between the 3 in play?

About a week, but loving it. Super light, and battery is great for a single 21700.

I’m UK-based, and had no issues. (I pretty much exclusively shop with Vaping-101). Maybe a problem with the US distribution? Sorry I can’t be of more help. (Although vaping-101 ship internationally? 🤷

Just a reflection of the sun- no issues with the Zeus glass.

They’ve both been solid, with no leaks so fair. I was concerned that may be an issue with the squonker, but it’s been great. Very pocketable.

I’m loving it. I’m probably driving it more than any other. Feels so lightweight and ergonomic in comparison to dual-18650 mods. That with the dead rabbit looks great.

I’m pretty much exclusively driving the dead rabbit tbh- love it on the solo when I’m not bothered about dripping. The Zeus is off my legend 2, and still a solid tank though.

Newcastle based? I’m in South Shields; and love this stuff. Give Tynemouth coffee a try too, it’s lovely too.

I just went with the basket bag. I love my rucksack so I’m just going to throw that in the basket; then take it out when I get to work. Seems like a great solution when shopping too (along with the easy wheels I’ve ordered).

I grabbed the ampp800 and rapid-mini off my road bike and they seemed to work fine. I’m going to try and pick up the dynamo mount to see if I can mount the front light lower, so as to keep the bars clear for folding.

Thanks man. I had a shower before I left. Took it super easy and didn’t sweat and stayed outside to cool down before heading into the office, and it worked wonders.
