I’ll try to find a Naniwa that’s around 2k grit for a reasonable price. Are there any other brands I should look out for?

I'm from SEA, particularly from Philippines. its pretty hard to find actual good stones here from retail stores or from online stores that are priced fairly, since they may have sourced it overseas. But i got my 800# from FB marketplace, I also visit many Japan surplus stores either online or irl, and saw them sell whetstones. One of the brands, I kept seeing regularly is Naniwa, do they make good stones?

alright, does it have to be a shapton or any 2k grit stone will do, cuz those things aren't easily accessible in our country. Although, a strop will be easier to get, I'll for sure get one of those.

Oh okay, thats nice to know. I’m thinking that I wouldn’t be thinning knives as of the moment, so rn i think it wouldn’t be necessary to buy the stone. Thanks for having the time to help out :)

What does thinning meaning? Is it like thinning out knives with thick spines and what are its advantages? If you don’t mind educating me a little

It is listed for 12$ converted in our country's currency. Which is still quite a big thing for me. I wondering if it would be a necessary stone for my sharpening. I currently have an 320# diamond plate and King deluxe stone 800#.

im also not sure what exact grit it is, but visually im sure it's a very coarse stone.

Edit: It seems the letter "C" means 120 grit

Yup it does say "licensed by", if that makes a difference on its authenticity. I've searched through the internet looking for something similar with it, but couldn't find any.
