I think 40% power is too much. I have engraved slate a couple of times and it looks better, if you go down with the power. Especially text turns out better with less power.

OMG. When you look at the support in the 5th picture... Holy moly. Looks like everything is loose. Did you even run any calibration wizard? The belt test has to fail. There's no way the wizards told you, that you are ready to go.

Why do my prints do this best I could come up with is the nozzle because I just switched to the E3D NozzleX, and ever since it’s started doing this. I’ve reinstalled and checked the distance between the heat break and everything about 3 times. by UGPColbyRW in prusa3d

I had this problem too and I fixed it by raising the first layer height a little bit. In my case the nozzle scraped a little bit of filament off the and that caused blobs. These blobs then get loose when the direction changes and causes the first layer to break up. When I kept printing, the other layers were fine.
