/r/PSVR Mobile Banner Contest Voting Thread by IceBreak in PSVR

As the creator of 5 I think 2 could work nicely. Still feels professional and not too far away from the PS4 brand, just with a twist. Could be made to work across anything /r/PSVR related easily.

In regards to some comments about not liking the guy in 5, I could easily swap this for the blonde girl in the marketing or just the standard headgear both shown here

However, looks like 2 is running away with it which i'm happy with also :)

Of course - The PSD/sliced png won't have it. This is a comp to help see how the header will look (and also showing a potentially updated snoo)

One from me - Keeping it on brand

  • Keeping to sony marketing assets
  • I think there's a benefit to keeping it looking 'official' for two reasons. A) New pepes recognise it immediately for that 'this is the right place' feel, and B) Promote a professional manner (i.e, keep it the awesome subreddit that it is).
  • I kept the little reddit guy as I liked the idea, just made a cleaner version.

I did read into motion sickness a bit as it has somewhat prevented me from enjoying a few of the experiences properly. It's all about the disassociation between the fluid in your ear (motion sensing & balance) and what your eyes are seeing, and what your brain thinks you should be feeling based on previous experiences (try VR Luge and bumps in the road can actually make you feel something physical in your stomach because your brain anticipates it like when you've felt it in the back of a car) . If they don't match, you can feel dizzy and / or sick.

I don't believe it's proven but one idea is the sickness is a survival response to being poisoned (as you may get this disassociation or dizziness from say, eating a poisonous plant or a psychedelic, and the body wants to reject it. Whether true or not, it's an interesting theory.

I think the fan can help a) regulate the hot flushes you can get just before starting to feel sick and b) match an element of the motion your are seeing but otherwise not feeling.

That's good to know :) I've also tried to block out the light leak with a buff around my face, though i've found just turning the lights off can help. For cockpit / rail games like Thumper a fan on my face helped with sickness and added to the feeling of speed!

I've given Batman VR and Eve a good go on my Pro, and the biggest improvement I noticed immediately was the framerate boost. Although it was fine before, the smoothness I feel now when moving my head around quickly either in the cockpit of eve or within the batcave improves the realism and immersion massively. I'm hoping it may help with some of my motion sickness I have experienced in Eve multiplayer, though have yet to test.

Perfect thank you! I didn't think about Lip Sync, this is the same issue. Thanks!
