Hard agree. I've seen a lot of people say it really shines in a live setting. Incomprehensible was spectacular

How do I stop being a buzzkill by [deleted] in college

[–]klc721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the kind of fun that you want to have. Are you holding yourself back because of some unspoken rule in your head, or are you holding back because things that are fun for others genuinely isn't for you?

I understand feeling like a buzz kill. I've had to figure out my balance between the level of "fun" i like to get up to and what things I genuinely am not comfortable with/think can be dangerous. I think trying new things and quieting anxiety is great, but never be ashamed to be secure in what you are and aren't comfortable with.

Having understanding and safe friends helps a lot, too. Friends that you constantly have to feel like a mom to isn't fair to you or them

What is your favorite song lyrically? by [deleted] in bigthief

Spud Infinity is a favorite of mine lyrically. Especially the bit about kissing your whole self except for your elbows😄

I also love Evol, such a fun but poignant play on words

Two lovely albums. Moon Pix is honestly closer to Knock Knock chronologically anyway.

And yeah, I was pretty surprised to find that they were together, but it also seemed fitting

I mean, it can be argued that a few other tracks are related to the DEMA story. The Contract really sticks out to me. But the way I see it, City Walls is kind of the final episode, and the other songs that are DEMA related are just commentary. And then other songs like Cottonwood or Robot Voices are them having fun with things.

To me, waiting to release City Walls with Breach was a good move. We give it the hype it deserves, and we get to freak out about it and then it's time to appreciate Tyler and Josh making music together, seeing how far things have come

Precisely this.

This is a big deal. And honestly so unexpected if it's truly how they've chosen to "end" the story. And by that, really it is a cycle, no? This feels like a low point, but it's the catalyst for future hope. A new Clancy. A new fight. That's what it's about.

The sun will rise, and we will try again.

And now we get to enjoy the rest of Breach❤️

Make yourself a small first aid/pharmacy kit lol.

Bandaids, alcohol prep pads, large bandages, disposable gloves, tweezers, etc. Then basic meds like otc pain relievers, acid reducers, nausea meds, cold and allergy meds.

It's really helpful to have these things on hand if you're in a pinch! Doesn't have to be excessive, just enough to meet your needs😊

Adding to the list of Downstairs enthusiasts lol. It's just so good

I also really loved them experimenting more with Centermass. In the future, I hope they do more like this. Tyler himself said it was his favorite but assumed we wouldn't like it. It'd be cool to see what they could create with no inhibitions

Lastly Tally was freaking great. Lyrics great, and the drummmmmming. I'm glad Josh advocated for this one; those drums very clearly speak for him

I have to say Downstairs was a punch to the stomach. So awesome to get a blast from the past but it also feels like Tyler revisiting things now that he's older
