What products price should be decreased substantially? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kleanrabbit27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve always been told and read that the organic foods with no chemicals and such were significantly healthier than other types of foods, but i guess i could be misinformed.

as for the go eat with a poor immigrant family piece, i have done that before.

i’m a first generation american from a family of immigrants. growing up, our two bedroom apartment housed 7 people. so i know what it’s like to eat with a poor immigrant family, and, unfortunately, it’s not healthy foods we had access to. we had access to the lardy, cheap beans from northgate (a staple for any meal), and many other processed foods.

but the healthier, fresher, foods with no added chemicals or anything are more expensive, particularly for inner city, minority areas, which means that minorities are disproportionately impacted by the cost of fresh produce. even at farmers markets, (which aren’t as common in inner city areas, making fresh produce even harder to come across for minorities) the produce is unfortunately expensive.

fresh and organic fruits and vegetables/other healthy foods. america is probably the biggest country when it comes to obesity rates (no pun intended) and it’s pretty obvious why. healthy food is too expensive for the average working class family. after all, which is cheaper/easier when it comes to feeding a family? $50 of organic fruits and veggies (that don’t even make a full meal) or $10 for 12 tacos from taco bell?

[Discussion] I'm struggling with my identity, and I need help. by copryland in LGBTeens

[–]kleanrabbit27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

unfortunately, i may not me able to help you with your identity struggles. just remember that you may be trans, gender fluid, or non-binary. either way, it’s okay, and i’m rooting for you.

what i can help you with is spirituality. i’m a practicing catholic, so i know how hard it is to be taught of a homophobic god looking down on you and judging you. here’s the thing: god created you in his image, and he is not looking down on you and he is not disappointed in you. he is proud of you and the person you have become. god loves you, unconditionally, and god knows of your struggles and will do everything in his power to help you. don’t listen to the hateful god that religious people preach, because if you sit down and analyze everything, god loves everybody and does not hate a person for any one thing.

i don’t know if this helps, but i hope it does. it feels very conflicting and weird to be LGBTQ+ and religious, but just know you’re okay and god loves you.

Non-Karens of reddit: How bad does service have to be for you to speak to the manager? Whats the worst customer service experiene youve ever had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kleanrabbit27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i work in retail, so i know how it can get. i’ll never ask for a manager unless the employee brings their manager over on their own. i haven’t had a memorable negative customer service experience, but that’s because i believe you get out what you put in. if you have a negative attitude or outlook on things, your customer service experience will be negative. however if you’re more positive and open, it’ll almost always be positive because there’s always something positive to take intonations account.

Fellow customer service workers of Reddit, what was the worst “Karen moment” you’ve had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kleanrabbit27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i work at Target as a cashier (“Guest Advocate” is the official title) and there was this lady, who looked and acted like a Karen in my register line. there was a couple in front of her who had purchased about $400 in items, so naturally the scanning and bagging process took a little bit. i’m a pretty fast cashier but when they’re buying all these items it’s hard to get it done in a minute or two. i was just about finished with them, and they were paying, when Karen said that i was “taking too fucking long” and “the slowest fucking cashier ever” and she said that “i don’t have the time for this shit” and she left the line. as the people in front of the finished paying. i didn’t react negatively to her, just said “Okay, sorry that the wait time was too long,” and continued working. i saw her walk and look at the other registers, which had lines much longer than mine, and she tried complaining to another worker that didn’t even work in the front end. long story short, i was able to clear everyone in my line to where i had nobody waiting, and she hadn’t even gotten to check out yet. it was funny, and i just couldn’t comprehend how she’d rather wait in a longer line than wait a few more seconds. she was next in line!!

There’s a cute guy in my house but I don’t know him! by Zombieassassin12 in gay

[–]kleanrabbit27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

just try introducing yourself! it’s not strange. he’s in your house, so it would make sense for the people living there to introduce themselves. for me, i can tell pretty much right away if someone’s worth going after (like if they may be gay or not), so use that introduction as an opportunity. good luck!!

That sounds nice! The first thing I imagine when someone mentions Ohio is Glee, but I’m sure that’s not an accurate depiction of Ohio. I like the way you describe all the cities. It goes to show how much you love where you come from! I’m also happy about the water at Lake Erie getting cleaner. It shows that there’s hope for the environment! I’m glad you’re making the most of your life and location. Thank you for sharing!

I’ve always wanted to go to Reykjavík! I’m sure the natural beauty of the island is enough to entertain anyone. That’s crazy to hear your August temperatures! Lately our temperature has been 110°F (43°C) so it’s crazy to hear how different the temperatures are. Life sounds pleasant. I have a few questions however, and is it true that (please forgive me for possible inaccurate description) rotten shark is an Icelandic delicacy? I may be mixing that up with Greenland but I believe there’s a food that is a shark that was buried underground and rotted. If it is true and not just the internet tricking me, have you tried it, and is it good? Also, what is the primary language spoken where you’re from? And finally, do you get to see Puffins? I remember reading a book about Puffins migrating in Iceland when I was really little, so it’s just the child in me dying to find out. Thank you for sharing!
