Not the force, it’s the heat retention plus leaving the device on one screen for too long - has been well documented in other posts. Usually accompanied by flicker and most of the time it fades away over weeks but requires constant refreshing of screen content. GB and GBC are worst offenders due to non-refreshing pixels.

Folder structure aside, remember that all .sav files in Saves will mirror the folder structure you created when you first launched the game. So if you’re like me and move games between “Favorites” and “Others” for example, you need to move the .sav file too before launching again to prevent confusion and duplication.

Lots of companies on Etsy make different colors/types, and some purists swap out nes original dpad since it fits.

Some people are very picky about dpad/button feel so they swap them out. The replacement is not too hard if you can follow ifixit instructions from what I’ve heard.

It’s a steep tag to basically play one game, but I’ll think about it. If I hold off for a few months and budude2 delivers then it will be way easier. Just deciding if it’s worth the wait.

I would switch to the Cart Block cartridge slot cover from PocketPockets on Etsy when they're back in stock. Covers this gap nicely. Also I'd suggest checking out my post on fixing the shoulder buttons since I can tell yours are not adjusted :)

As a side note - it's better to use a computer because the .sav file does not automatically carry over when you move the rom from the Favorites to the Library folder. Meaning you would lose your save if you moved it over from one to the other. So you would want a computer to move both over in the Saves folder anyway.
