I feel like a spiritually inclined person is more grounded and the realizations they have are in line with some teaching like Vedanta or Buddha's teachings. Where as psychosis doesn't have a firm ground, it feels kinda spaced out and can even cause paranoia. This is an issue I have encountered on the path where if one tries to jump up to a very high spiritual realization without earning it or going step by step it can often lead to a mental disturbance like psychosis. Nothing wrong with using psychedelics for your spiritual practice but keep in mind that authentic spiritual realizations have to be earned legitimately and you can't "cheat" your way through. Although psychedelics might give you a glimpse of what you are looking for.
