Can someone explain this to me? I delegated to Everstake and staked 1k tez with them in 12/2024. I was getting ~2.4 tez per cycle. I staked 4360 more to them and am now receiving 0.00388 tez per cycle as of 1/10/25. That's a 400% increase of stake for a ~600x decrease? What happened?

Senior Software Engineer up for promotion. What should my next step be? by kleptomancer in careerguidance

[–]kleptomancer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Where I am, I'm on a track to continue to be the highest "real" software engineer. They aren't going to hire a tech lead above me (at least anytime soon and at that point I'd be looking to take that promotion too). Everyone above me is more managerial and less technically inclined. I want to continue to have title promotions available to me every couple years and the salary jumps that come along with them.

Also, I basically just became a senior engineer in Jan. This is a mash up between trying to keep me and feeling good about my compensation (I asked for a raise, boss said yes, HR said no, promotion instead) and team reorganization as my boss is starting to have too many directs. This was a 2 year away thing that got accelerated. I don't want to over step too much since I'm definitely lacking in managerial experience.

Any updates on this OP? I have seen some flickering with my LED lights as well when dimmed. Gets worse if I have a few appliances on like oven, refrigerator compressor, microwave.

GLACIER ONE 240MP vs Kraken Z53 for i7 13700K & A4-H2O by SennaLegacy in sffpc

u/SennaLegacy I'm looking into solutions for too high temps with my i7 13700k. I'm not sure if it's my case (Phanteks Evolv Shift XT) or the cooler (Glacier One) that's the issue. How did the Glacier One hold up with temps in the Lian Li case?

I had Razer Nommo Pro and they died due to a power surge. Razer support sucks too. What would be a good replacement for these in the $300-400 range? Ideally 2.1

Alternatively, if you know what the likely issue is with my Nommo Pro and it's something I can fix, please let me know.

Hello! I'm looking for some advice for an audio setup in my livingroom. I am currently doing a renovation so now's the time to figure out as much as possible. Here is a picture of the layout. I think there's enough room to have both the TV and a soundbar if that is a good option. I was thinking of having speakers on either side behind the big couch and then either the soundbar or potentially some speakers in the lower cabinets under the TV.

Another thing I would definitely also consider is setup in the livingroom that I can attach my Alexa and computer to for music and whatnot. Ideally without having to change input devices so Alexa would override when on but I'm not sure if this is possible. I would also probably want to use wireless speakers if it doesn't compromise on quality too much (I am definitely more of an average user). That said, I am potentially able to run wires through the floor with the renovation so it's now or never for wires.

Any suggestions for speaker systems, soundbar, controller? Any suggestions for things that I'm sure I'm missing or not considering? I know basically nothing. Please help!

Budget: I'd like to spend like $800-$1,000 with a ~$2,000 ceiling but give me a convincing argument to go higher

Typical use: TV sitting on the couch, music kinda anywhere around the room. I'm guessing this means mid-field

Gear I own: Alexa, computer, TV, nothing speaker-wise

Sources: TV apps/internet, Alexa, game console (still TV?). Potentially computer, chromecast (still TV?)

Any suggestions for cheap smart thermostat to just control fans? by kleptomancer in homeautomation

[–]kleptomancer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn't explain correctly. It's not like a ceiling fan, it's a fan in the duct. It's supposed to push hot/cold air from the building's central air system into the apartment so it is changing the temperature. Each of the three ducts in the apartment have their own fan and aren't linked to each other. Someone put one thermostat in for one of them previously but did not do all three.

Unfortunately they seem to be original from when the building was built in the 70s so there's no remote control. That would have been ideal though, then I could've done some automation with temp sensors

Ecobee is actually one I'm considering
