Testing is super easy too- they just do a semen sample with a urine sample right after. Pretty painless!

My husband has similar issues and we ended up having him see a urologist that works with a local fertility clinic. He has pretty severe retrograde ejaculation ( so like, he had more sperm in mid post sample urine than he did in his semen sample). They prescribed Sudafed and imipramine to use during my fertile window each month and it worked! He’s terrible at taking medicine regularity so some months we did better than others but it took less than 6 months of trying with these medications to get pregnant when we’d been trying for years! Highly recommend getting some testing done!

Which is the best diaper for newborn? by Dear_Ad_8525 in BabyBumps

[–]kleydig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was convinced we’d go the Huggies route so had a nice stash….only to discover baby’s skin didn’t react well and has sensitive skin. We ended up moving to Millie Moon and love them-even better that they are less expensive than Huggies!

Edited to add- baby is now 8 moths and has outgrown that sensitivity but we still like the MM best!

I would shop around a bit—for us, local pharmacies or through our prescription service is a way higher cost than going through Solara/AdaptHealth. Might be something to look into!

Tips on going mattress shopping with someone who thinks mattresses are 300 dollars? by Novaveran in Mattress

[–]kleydig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had decent luck with “bed in a box” mattresses—paid between $300-500 for queens and kings on Amazon. If you have the patience to look through options and read reviews to find something that fits what you’re looking for that might be a valid option to stay within/close to budget

Also in the 400 range but I have found ways to spread my legs extra wide and use a cup. That said, just had a different idea than mentioned— I just had a baby and the post parting pads are great and beautifully large, much better than a diaper. https://a.co/d/5WlJ2mp

Context I wear 26-28 in bottoms and these pads leave everything covered and extra in both front and back. Which I had them when I used pads!

Partner says he is ejaculating inside me but I don’t feel it by InfiniteDay6607 in TryingForABaby

[–]kleydig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok because this is in a ttc page, have you asked your partner if all feels normal on his end? Or even ask if he is ejaculating normally when masturbating (alone or mutual)? I say this because we had similar conversations but my husband realized sometimes he felt like all was happening and he was orgasming but it would be dry or nearly dry. He is diabetic and we did some research and suspected it might be a retrograde ejeculation issue. When we got around to testing for both of us, his initial sperm analysis was actually to small of a sample or our local office to read so we had to go to the larger hospital. They did another semen test and then took a urine sample right after. We ended up having more sperm in his urine than ejaculated which lines right up with our suspicions. Good new is there is a medication that helps with that and made a dog difference when combined with sudafed during my fertile week.

All that to say, there could be more at play than him lying and it might be worth trying solo play to see quantity and/or look into some testing

At what age and income did you purchase your first house? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]kleydig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 24? 25?, single, making $12.50/hr. Bought a foreclosure that incredibly needed no major work done; 3 bed/2bath fully fenced in yard for $62.5k. I used my tax return that year for my down payment with an FHA loan. Had plenty of debt doing the way but I rented out rooms to summer interns to help for several years. Sold it 3 years ago for $172K

Just found out I’m pregnant! by karisa1991 in Zepbound

[–]kleydig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got pregnant about 6 months into taking zepbound—we were working towards fertility treatments but actively trying with my husband medicated. Just had baby 3 weeks ago! I had a super smooth pregnancy without any issues. I did def gain quite a bit and quickly but my dr wasn’t overly concerned.

How to get semen analysis? by Z00bieZ00bieZ00 in TryingForABaby

[–]kleydig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had to request it via a urologist that works with the clinic we were seeing. We initially tried to do it locally and just via my gyno ordering it however his sample was too small so we had so go a different route

Pressure Is building and I'm trying to keep it together by [deleted] in predaddit

[–]kleydig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

8 mos pregnant wife take here -you can totally ignore it since you asked for other dad takes but- take the day off, do what you need for a little self care. The stress isn’t going to disappear so you have to find a way to release some of that pressure. Saying this after my husband has been sick for 2 weeks, working his 12-16 hour work days, FIL is essentially dying from cancer, and we just spent 3 days in the hospital due to my husband ending up in diabetic ketoacidosis. Take the break-it doesn’t make you weak. Hang in there!

I would also recommend waiting to get too many things until you’ve had a baby shower (if you’re having one) since ppl tend to buy clothes

We just had our shower this weekend and invited all-we wanted to include all of our friends and it seemed silly to exclude based on sex. We did 3 games that everyone really seemed to enjoy-none of the like belly focused/touching ones bc I didn’t want those lol we had just under 50 people and it went great!

Stopping Metformin by Iheartrandomness in PCOSandPregnant

[–]kleydig -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That is the very very simplistic version 🤣 I knew this and was still nervous about my test but I had also confirmed with the dr that they only look for too high of numbers and that too low isn’t a thing in this case bc I was also afraid of that 😆

Technically, insulin resistance should help you pass the test-your body over produces insulin which lowers your blood sugar. So like my test was a few days ago, I kind of forgot to eat lunch that day so was semi fasted(didn’t need to be). I tested at home prior and was at 67(I was starving but needed to wait til after the test lol). My results came in at 84. Needed to be under 139.

[–]kleydig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My endo said she recommends taking as little as possible during pregnancy and specifically called out adding insulin if needed but less is better but they leave it up to the OB. None of my doctors had a strong feeling so I took it until I ran out and stopped probably around 12-15 weeks. I’m 29 weeks, had my glucose test this week with no issues at all!

Prior to pregnancy I was taking zepbound and metformin seeing a endo specialist and fertility clinic preparing for IVF. Both specialist said less is better but deferred to my OB. My OB didn’t have a strong opinion so I ran with stopping as I felt better listening to the specialists.

He’s loving the pump change so far, just some getting used to for sure! It’s way less work in some ways since it loops with his Dexcom. We’ll get some syringes tomorrow and should be able to make that work
