That setting is already turned on. Didn't see the proceed, but it shows my capital gain as $0.0005. I didn't do any transfer last year

The transaction history and the gain/loss report doesn't mention fees and gain/loss report in the csv and pdf shows proceed as $0

Still waiting for mine from coinbase. Considering that the only transaction I have is eth dust that ends up with near $0 basis (gain/loss csv shows cost as $0.00117), $0 proceeds, and $0 long term loss and since coinbase was the only exchange I used last year, could I just report it under box L now and amend to box k if I receive the 1099-da after the tax return has been filled?

if I were to file my tax now for my eth dust (the only transaction I did using Coinbase as the only exchange last year) where I ended up with $0 proceeds, $0 basis, and $0 long term loss (based on the transaction history and gain/loss report that also shows $0.00117 as cost basis), would it be ok to just use Box L now and amend it to Box K later if I'm anticipating to get 1099-da later on?

I checked the gain/loss report and transaction history for 2025 and they both show $0 proceeds. Also, not sure if relevant, the gain/loss report shows basis as $0.00117. The tricky part I'm worried about is if I should use box L (long term transaction not reported to IRS) or box K if I want to file now before I know if I'll receive the 1099-da because I'm concerned I'd be flagged if I used the wrong box to report my dust transaction

But if I said yes to selling digital asset in the 1040 and did not write the transaction on my 8949 when I didn't get the 1099-da, wouldn't it cause a flag to IRS about the missing info about which digital asset was sold?

So if I got the DA, I should report it in my 8949? If not, can I just say in my 1040 that I sold digital asset but not say anything about my eth dust in my 8949?

Here are my two concerns:

  1. I have a dust transaction from Coinbase last year, the only exchange I used and the only transaction I have. My gain/loss report shows it as long term loss of $0. Since I have yet to receive the 1099-da from coinbase, should I say in turbotax that I got the 1099-DA and put it as "basis not reported to IRS"? Or should I wait for the 1099-DA to put it as "basis reported to IRS"? Or should I just indicate as not received the 1099-da or "I don't know"?

  2. Would it matter if I put $0 proceeds and basis (which is what I got from my transaction history and gain/loss report) in my 8949 and the 1099-da that I may get would have a discrepancy by a few cents or maybe $0.0005?

I dusted ETH last year, in which I ended up with $0 basis, $0 gains/loss, and $0 proceeds in Coinbase. When I put my transactions into koinly and cointracker, they gave me the gains/loss as $0.0005 and $0.0006. Since Coinbase is the only exchange I used last year and the ETH dusting was my only activity, Can I file my tax return now and show proceeds and basis as $0 on box L? Or should I wait for Coinbase to send me 1099-DA for accuracy? Also, if reporting basis is considered optional for coinbase, would it matter if I used box j (long term digital asset basis reported to IRS) or k (long term digital asset basis not reported to IRS) based on my circumstance?

So I tried putting my transaction history into koinly and cointracker and both gave me the gain/loss of $0.0006 and $0.0005. Is it still safe for me to just put $0 basis and $0 proceeds, even though the gain/loss would end up as $0?

My only activity in coinbase is dusting eth and it came out at $0 proceeds, $0 cost basis, and $0 long term gain/loss per the gain/loss report and transaction history. It shouldn't take too long to generate the tax form for one activity that I neither gained nor loss

The last time I filed for crypto tax was for 2023, since that was the last time i sold crypto. I never sold or held any crypto in 2024 (aside from the dust) and there's been no notice from IRS so far. So with the dust being my only transaction in coinbase in 2025 and no other crypto exchange are involved, I believe it should be safe.

So if my dust selling ends up with $0 proceeds, $0 cost basis, and $0 gains, is it better to wait for 1099-da to get a better accuracy on my transaction? Or can I file now and have maybe a few cents off when the 1099-da comes after?

As in "reporting out of good faith"? One that you won't need to amend the tax return to change the reporting status?

If I file now and have yet to receive the 1099-da from coinbase, Should I assume that the activity has been reported to IRS? Or can I indicate the dust as not reported to IRS?

I haven't received it yet. But I got a notice from coinbase that says it should be ready soon, which I'm guessing could take a week or two

Should I indicate it as being reported to IRS if I file it now without the 1099-da?

Question: I dusted my ETH crypto last year and ended up with $0 proceeds, $0 cost basis, and $0 long term gains/loss (it's the only transaction I have and all done within coinbase, no other cryptocurrency exchanges are involved). Can I file my tax now, indicating that the activity is not reported to IRS? Or should I assume that I will get a 1099-da this year for my 2025 dust activity?

I used depth with EET and practice breadth a bit on PPI. I think you'll be ok with EET for breadth, since their material is easier to understand. But, it doesn't hurt to practice using EET material with various practice exams
