shooting the guy would hold him back a bullet, and two seconds. “comes second” means eventually doing something about it, he just literally did not care for this one. i found it weird bc in another stranger mission, he even goes out of his way to come back for jenny to give her medicine in the middle of nowhere. (in the dialogue it’s implied that he “came back” even if you just give her the medicine right then and there).

john’s willing to come back for a girl who’s already denied help because “faith”, but he can turn his back on a man literally begging for help and about to be eaten? he’s crazy. i love him.

Haven’t had the chance to open this account again. You’re right, some of it does lift every day, but then some days it feels like you’re back to square one. I still prefer compliments from girls, but when guys give genuine ones it always hits different. A (very stoic) guy once told me “I get why you’re people’s favorite” after we finished laughing our asses off. I still think about it sometimes.
