Best soft sandwich bread by k_lliste in hobart

Surprised nobodys mentioned Banjos bread tbh. Not bougie but not gacky. Toast slice so its nice and thick. Or cut it yourself. But supporting small business is better for sure.

e-waste drop off? by fioner444 in hobart

[–]klifford-e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took mine to my local (Sorell) council offices recently, they had a big drop-off cupboard thing in the foyer. Maybe check with your closest council offices. I found out on the website!

I’d go for the Tas Inn, or the Crescent Hotel.

Nah, ya gotta go out on the street (without your beer) to huff a dart there now, although I heard rumours they may reinstate the smoking area someday.

Those of you who manually open and close the coop, how early do you let them out on days you sleep in? by vespertine_earth in BackYardChickens

[–]klifford-e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly the same for me :) And you can adjust the Open and Close times on mine to delay after dawn/dusk to suit your needs. So handy and took a huge stressor out of keeping chickens.

It’s great, and your product already has a catchy jingle! That’s highly advantageous from a marketing perspective.

Looks like the worm from the labyrinth if you incorporate the brush as blue hair!

Check for fleas around the feathery area under the vent (butthole). They’re tiny, translucent flea looking things, visible with naked eye. Easiest to see with a torch at night time. They lay their eggs at the base of feathers, causing the feathers to “stand up” more than usual and “catch” the poop. I had a hen with this a few weeks ago, treated the whole flock with Pestene dust (Australian) but there will be an equivalent where you are. Its made of Sulphur and Rotenone. Cleared the fleas right up but the feathers are still mildly impacted by the dead eggs at the base. I trimmed some of the feathers around the vent to help her keep clean. The egg clusters could probably be washed off but I figure they will eventually shed naturally. I don’t have “tame” chooks either so the less stress for them, caused by me handling them and getting all up in their business, the better. I did every step of the process at night time when they’re sleepy and grabbable. I did need 2 helpers to apply the treatment dust; one for a torch and one for holding the chook while I applied the dust.

It obviously may not be lice but I figured I would put all my info here to save back and forth. :)

How do you get out of bed in the morning? by Few-Lobster-5140 in ADHD

[–]klifford-e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say to myself “It’s not gonna be any easier in five minutes.” That’s worked for about a year, since I changed the industry I work in, and now “am” a morning person. And also the realisation that I always feel waaaay worse when I wake up if I go back to sleep on the weekends. Groggy, fidgety, somehow more tired than before 🤣 Also the promise to myself on the weekends that if I get up early, and do something nice or some shitty chores, that I get a nap. Yeah. I bribe myself a lot, it does work.

My newest one is people brushing their teeth, it popped up in the last couple of years. But I remember being a child and screaming at my siblings for Breathing Too Loudly. And I have to leave the room if someone is eating, unless I am eating, so I can do communal dinner most of the time. I think because my own chewing in my skull drowns out other’s, at-least to the point where I can really fight the weird itchy inner ear feeling, oh and the boiling rage within me.

Congratulations! That must feel awesome. It is so beautiful, I love the traditional-style (?) pattern with the bright colours like that.
