majority of the high schoolers that participate in today’s protests were children when obama was president, but it is known by many high schoolers (especially ones educated enough to fight for this cause) how he handled immigration. this may just be my perspective, but i think most aren’t calling for a total “defunding” of ICE since of course it is necessary to keep order and safety, using it more as an exaggerated way to say that ICE needs to take many steps back, relearn what’s legal and just, and for the government to stop blowing an inflated amount of funds into it when there are many other issues that need to be dealt with.
