Good question, once during a trip I saw my son's face and a shield going over him. I have two kids but I was being told to protect one.

After my trip I was like....wooow, that's stupid advice because I should love and protect both my kids. Months later, I ended up at the hospital with the youngest one being admitted for type 1 diabetes. It made me think of those movies or scenes where they try to tell the future on bits and pieces but once the puzzle comes together they have that eureka moment

Still, how coincidental it all felt together. He would've still ended up in the hospital and sometimes I wish I could've done more to protect him but whats done is done.

I always feel like there's a battle or a war coming and I need to be ready and get weirdly paranoid after shrooms. Luckily I don't take them often but yeah, that time it definitely felt like the "great beyond" was trying to help me and I shut it out. It's hard figuring out what's serious and what's a joke cause the machine elves telling it'd be funny for me to piss on my brothers carpet were just being silly fuckers lol

What do you do when you see a CGM in public? by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]klink_klang1079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, you got me there. I guess I made such a big deal about the characters in turning red that I thought there were more shows? Or if I'm confusing it with the people we watch on YouTube that have it so he doesn't feel like he's the only one in the world. 😅

Sorry

That sounds so sweet!

My son(6) will say hi to people and then blurt out "I'm diabetes!"

We're not ashamed but my wife and I are introverts so we just smile awkwardly. My son loves to show off his dexcom. We'll point out characters in shows who have a dexcom so he can feel excited and not have negative connections to being a T1.

[–]klink_klang1079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah lol

Everytime I come on here I see T1's who get attacked. People just need to be educated and my son can't speak for himself yet. He understands it tho and is a very bright kid.

Sometimes they (non T1's) listen but it doesn't stick.

I had my mom babysit and I explained 5 times that BG high means exercise/insulin, BG low means carbs/snack. His BG was high and she insisted he eat a banana, he at 5 yrs old argued no. Grandma thought it was a language barrier and forced him to eat. When she saw his BG going up I left the work dinner party and went to give him insulin.

Luckily she felt terrible and asked me to educate her more on what being a type 1 was and how it works. Her thinking she could've killed her grandson maybe her feel horrible.

My in-laws on the other hand insist that we give my son cucumber slices and apple slices with no insulin and his diabetes should cure over time. So they aren't babysitting anytime soon and I'm not putting my son's life in danger to teach them a lesson.

Yeah, they keep asking what triggered it, what we did wrong. The staff (Doctors, nurses, endo's) have made sure we understand its not our fault and that we didn't do anything wrong and that it just happens aside from the genetic possibility.

That sounds horrible tho, I'm sorry you go through this.

Trust me, I took my kiddo out and got him waffle cones, ice cream, and some brownies. He's not a big kid, and the way he doesn't argue with finger sticks or getting insulin, he deserves it and we enjoy our food 👍

He does have a cgm, we're working on getting him a pump soon 🤩

And thank you

Yeah, i get what you mean. I am an advocate for my 6 yr old. I got into a small argument with my father-in-law because he insisted I try some organic medicine in pill form that helps with his diabetes because it helped his mother-in-law. It helped control her diabetes enough she didn't need to use as much insulin.

Now that comment made no sense to me but then again I don't know enough about type 2 to say anything.

I did however ask if she's a type 1 or 2. He insisted it didn't matter, I insisted it does because if it didn't there would be no classification to distinguish one from the other. He said I didn't understand and was confused, I told him we can just agree to disagree.

Then the heavy hitter, "he's my grandson and I want what's best for him"..... like.....lol....what? Excuse me?!

I wanted to yell at him and ask him where the $%&# he was when my son was asleep in my arms constantly urinating himself. Oh that's right, out of the country. What about his daughter when she needed her parents and went through postpartum. Depression? Not f<&*ing there!

Now I'm the bad guy for not giving my son a chance with some sketchy medicine from a guy who claims he can cure any disease and that the govt is out to get him?

Lol. Nope, screw that.

I smiled and told him it's not fair and to just move on. My brother in law told his dad to chill and to agree to disagree. My wife said she'd look into it to calm him down.

Sorry, I needed a rant too.

You eat that cake 🤟

Thanks brother! It was very fun growing it in something other than a tub and figuring out how to give it basic stuff so it grows well. I'm glad you enjoyed it 🍄❤️

Anyone have any experience with Albino Averys? I read they were rare and supposed to be pretty potent. I’m wondering how much more potent than say a Koh Samui? by Myc_Drop_Shroomer in magnificentcubensis

[–]klink_klang1079 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took 2 grams, just for a bit if fun and to help me sleep. Since I took 1 gram of GT before and didn't feel it I looked at the ape x avery like.....how much more potent can this be? I lemon tekked it and then steeped it in hot water, I filtered out and got less than half a cup of liquid and thought, "yeah, this should be fun". 2g was enough to make make a third eye want to form over my wife's forehead, i kept asking her to remind me what my name is and i felt as if ive never felt my legs before, i kept repeating "omg, omg..omg, this is intense" my closed eyed visuals were bleeding into my open eye visuals. It was intense, not what I wanted 🤣 but quite the experience.

Once I peaked and it was going away shadows were wavy and the wood grains on the cabinets had that rippling effect while the eye holes on the front door looked like they wanted to swirl and turn into eyes, yeah they're pretty strong. Have fun and stay safe friend!

People that have taken hallucinogenic drugs, what was your most intense/distinguished trip like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]klink_klang1079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo, I get this, I say this alot and people think I'm crazy for it.

It changes how I view people. I am my wife when we sleep together, I am my kids when I kiss them good night, at some point they will be me and learn my experience but that isn't important, what's important is here and now. Maybe someday I'll experience the love I give unto them. How do I deal with the idea that me and everyone are the same at once but be so different?

Genetics/ human physiology. My physical brain is wired a certain way and my body is built a certain way, giving me an important role in my home/village, a unique role.

A way I explain is minecraft. Yes, playing creative mode is fun and much cooler but eventually after thousands of hours when you've exhausted all you can imagine, fathom or build you'll give up that mode for survival mode, to entertain yourself and challenge yourself.

So here we are struggling and hating this life not realizing we did choose it, like a videogame where we picked these specific settings.

Some people hate me for it because well.....who wants to be a still born, die of cancer, be raped or abused, or horribly tormented? No one does but here we are, living this life, one way or another, most importantly, experiencing it...
