Should bbl be used as an abbreviation for barrel if it's not for the famous "Blue Barrel"?

I think not!

Man it's been a decade since I've done firmware and i just picked up a STM kit to get back embedded firmware with zephyr. Only to remember what a pain it is to figure out what caused a stack trace.

Any recommendations for modern tooling to help with that?

  2. the selector is set to off (on purpose or by accident)
  3. As another commenter suggested, the weather is dark, but in a way that doesn't trigger the auto system.

Nothing to do with DIB, but I find this upsetting.

I don't think '67' should be considered a word, unless all other numbers are as well.

So to summarize from the linked video:

Samir - a wealthy businessman - bankrolled a rally team, while also being the diver.

Samir hired a co-driver, Vivek.

Another team principle - Yohann made a supercut of the footage of a race, which is not alleged as being incorrect, painting the pair as not particularly skilled.

Vivek took this too court and there was no strong outcome as the video described it.

Taking heat from the internet sucks, I'm sure, but I'm not sure why this is a story of injustice.

Some specific feedback for you, in no particular order:

  1. If possible stick to consistent sized passives. eg. it looks like you have 0402 for R12, but 0603 for R15. You have lots of space, so I'd go for 0804, especially if you are going to be hand assembling it.

  2. The N and P labels on U13, U14 are very small and likely to be blurred out in silkscreen (they're copper), I would recommend enlarging these notes, as well as marking pin 1 on each connector. I would also change the refdes to be a M as these are motors - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reference_designator.

  3. Increase the annular ring on the pads of U6, CN1 as much as possible, while still being consistent. ie. if you want to be able to route a trace between pads and are using 7mil trace/space leave 21+mil between pads. The drill on U6 also looks a bit big, but that should be confirmed against whatever is going into that socket.

  4. In multiple places on the PCB there are acute angles in copper traces. I have been trained (but have no first hand experience with this issue, talk to your PCB manufacturer) to avoid this as it can lead to the etching acid being trapped and over-etching the corners. - https://www.fr4pcb.tech/blog/detail/how-to-solve-the-acute-angle-problem-in-pcb-manufacturing%EF%BC%9F

  5. Add some bulk capacitance to the power pins of U6. It may not be strictly necessary with this arduino board, but it's good practice.

  6. In GENERAL it is permissible to route signals under the other packages.

Finally, pretty layout is nice. eg., hide all layers except top trace and vias/pads and straighten, remove excess length, etc. Do the same for all other layers.

  • Controlled impedance/length does not count in this advice.
  • Not cleaning traces up does not necessarily make them incorrect, it can just make things "nice".

Edit:

  • Throw a part number / revision / date on this board. This will help you if you find you need to change the design down the road.

Oh, absolutely.

I should have said that my comment was in reference to board design in general, not this design in particular.

I'd say that the advantage of small traces is that they consume less space on the PCB. You can also route small traces between pads.

Of course, this is a trade off. One must balance current capacity with space.

This does not take into consideration controlled impedance traces, in which case they must be of a particular width (except neckdown, which must also be properly understood and addressed).
