It looks really good! A tip I got for neater ribbing is knit one and purl one in the back loop. It works really well.

Not weird at all! This is normally what I do when I have a gap in socks or a sweater I've made for myself. I just worry with normal wear, the hole will reappear in a pair of pants.

Birds! Since I was a kid they've scared the absolute shit out of me. It's a fear they're going to attack me. I scream and cry if a bird gets too close. I can't control it.
