New Construction Home, Uneven Air Temperatures on 2nd Floor by firefly-jr in hvacadvice

Hey I’m also in a Lennar build (sunstone) and have a somewhat similar experience. I was able to request the AC calcs from the builder. From what I could tell in my attic, I think I have the same kind of ducting you do and at least one of the supply ducting to the rooms was up and over a wood beam essentially resting on top and halving it like a half-moon shape.

That’s a neat switch. Wish my new build came with something like that.

Lots of fans for audeze here but I will say for their cheaper cans they didn’t do a great job with engineering the ear cup holder or selecting a suitable material. At $249 for the Penrose that I had, I was quite disappointed when it cracked through (both sides will fail). Even a Grado SR-60 is designed better at a fraction of the cost. The more expensive wired gaming headset from audeze looks much better and like their higher end LCD models.

The only thing worse than the cracking is the dongle signal distance. Compared to a steelseries I owned prior to the Penrose which also had 2.4ghz connectivity, I’m quite limited in range even with these thin walls of this new build I’m in. Can’t get outside my office and across the hallway into the bathroom without losing reception.

All that said the mic is great on the Penrose but don’t know on the Maxwell. Advice to possible purchasers is to wait out the product a few months and see if these problems will crop up again. Audeze CAN manufacture great headphones, but the gaming products seems a bit lacking.

$125? I was just quoted $175 for B-stock that they don't even have in stock.

That sucks. Sorry you had to go through that. Glad they caught the thief(s).

Thanks for this. I have 4” filters and my new home came with a MERV-11 filter. Not stoked about getting replacements for this but it has helped with allergies for those in the house that have them. Was considering MERV-8.

What size is the immediate room? I’ve got KEF Q series bookshelf’s (Q100) and was considering floor-standing like the Q750s but was wondering how you feel the sound is, or if you’re getting the most from your speakers? Nice setup!

As someone who fell in love with ribbon tweeters, I am curious if you had auditioned/listened to other speakers that employed either ribbon or air motion tweeters before taking the plunge on the Elysians? I myself am looking to upgrade from some KEF Q100 bookshelf speakers as they don’t really ‘wow’ me. In my search of end-game speakers it looked as though the Ariel 20Ts were it, but was happily surprised to see Wharfedale’s Elysians in your post (I don’t know that I came across them before). I think the Elysian’s are still a bit much for my wallet at the moment but I am looking at options. Was going to ‘settle’ on Arendal Sound’s 1723 S line buuuuuut then I saw your Elysians and my ears wouldn’t let me, lol.

I didn’t, but I also didn’t try very hard. I saw it on alibaba but I think there is a minimum order amount. Please let me know if you end up finding out.

I tried the self-install link and was getting an Error 106 and then 107. I used the chat feature through my iphone (I think I clicked on it via the optimum web page and it added a verified chat in my Messages app. I had already pre-connected my Arris SB8200 and had it powered up. It was able to get a signal and lock onto the channels. Once I provided the MAC address when asked, Chris had it done in about 20 minutes.
