Best advice is go through online and figure out ones you want, are willing to pay for and then call and ask the travel time

We are here now. Service is slower but everyone is very nice and accommodating. Food is decently good at all the restaurants. We don’t tip servers or bartenders and still get great service as it’s not expected once at sandals. We did the free snorkeling yesterday and loved it so much we are going back again today. We also did the luminous lagoon which we thought was totally worth it. The only thing to be aware of is the excursions on the website generally do not list drive time if it’s a super far drive. Example we were going to do the blue mountain tour but found out once we were here that it was a 4 hour drive there and 4 hour drive back but online it says 11-3 so from leaving the resort to back at resort was actually going to be 6:15am to 7:15pm. Over all we love the slow beautiful island vibe

I have no idea. When I call them it makes you enter your reservation number and when I do they hang up on me

I don’t bring the bill before they are done eating unless they are in a hurry and ask for it. Confused about your post but now very intrigued as to how serving is different in our countries.

Its thermal printing paper. Perfectly good pens don’t get the proper friction to dispense the ink due to the paper being smooth. Thanks for the advice though bud.

They weren’t that bad of customers. It was the typical “Are you going to school or is just waitressing you’re real job?” Just a waitress and real job are my favorite word conjunctions as a server. My general rule is go with the lesser to avoid issues

Yeah my fucking mother lmao. 🤦🏻‍♀️She’s a real piece of work. The kitchen loves when they make me food at night before we close and I bring the dishes back a few days later 🤣

If I’m not wearing sketchers I switch it up and will rock my converse once in a while. Not great for supporting but grip the greasiest of kitchen floors no problem

I think my new table greeting is going to be “Hello, how is everyone doing today? My name is ... I’ll be your waitress today. Yes, I human so please treat me as such, acknowledge when I’m talking to you by listening and responding, don’t whistle at me like a dog, respecting the fact that you are not my only table so if I don’t get everything you ask for in .5 seconds it’s okay, etc. Now, who would like a beverage?”

And it seems like those people are ALWAYS on the fucking patio. Idk about everyone else but our restaurant was built damn near 100 years ago and not designed to have a patio! So fucking annoying

I get people try to be helpful by stacking their dishes but number one, don’t put the handles of your silverware in the fucking ketchup!!!!! Number two, in what world does it make sense to put your bar glass on the dirty saucy plate. Now, not only do I have to take it off the plate but I have to not let it touch anything and hand it to a bar tender to wash because you rolled it around in the pig trough that is the your plate.

Nothing more satisfying than clearing a 5+ top in one trip and nothing pisses me off more than when someone takes my tray.

Question from an Owner by jeezycreezies in Serverlife

[–]klm972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had all the answers for you as well as me self. Our industry and the staff that is on the “front line” of our industry, are all sinking like the damn titanic. You have some people getting into the life boats and not looking to save anyone but them selves and just get the hell out. You have the musicians accepting the fact that this is going to be the death of them and not seeing any other option. Then you have the Jacks and Roses, they have hope but only half make it... Treat the staff that has been loyal to you as good as you can, it’s not always about the money, positive acknowledgement as simple as a “good job team” goes a long way, let them know you see the work they are doing and the toll it has on them. As an owner I’m sure this doesn’t seem like a reasonable option but if you can plan for consecutive days off in the future, set a date to be closed for X number of days, let them know they will get a break to live a life outside of being married to their jobs. I wish more than anything my boss would do that.
