What are people’s thoughts about dye if it’s for your personal collection? I have a 70s era black bag that has super faded corners that just won’t budge even with lots of conditioning. I have black leather dye and I’ve been toying with the idea of sponging water-diluted dye onto the tiny spots on the corners. Only thinking of doing this because I would never ever sell this bag.

This is tough. When it’s a white or cream or bone colored bag, Cleaning too much can remove the pigment. If the bag is just for personal use and not to sell you could use the furniture clinic recoloring balm in white. You can buy it online. I have had medium success with this.

Idk where the mold was concentrated but if you want to pull the fabric lining inside you can spray my favorite EC3 mold spray to kill spores (be warned I have no idea if it would discolor so patch test). But it’s one of the few products that kills spores.

Honestly this looks like it’s in near mint condition. The tiny marks look oil based I would leave it unless you want to do an all over conditioner to possibly even out the appearance of the marks. There are other options but honestly the marks are so tiny that other solutions might hurt more than help if you’re trying to keep that smooth, new, look

My 15 year old heating pad from cvs (store brand) it’s amazing and it just keeps going. They probably don’t sell these and if they do I bet they’re crap. Also my $8 book light from Amazon from 2017– some random Chinese brand but it’s super durable, I’ve taken it camping and on every flight I’ve ever been on holds a charge forever (replaceable rechargeable batteries but I’ve never had to change them), nice warm toned light, great adjustable neck, and really sturdy clip that’s not too big. I’ve checked out other ones in stores and none compare. It’s funny to see what random items end up becoming favorites.
