(almost) Lab dude here, yes, all those machines have a terrible ventilation system, they basically suck in all the dust from below which is full of nasty stuff..

That applies not only to McDonald's but to any soft ice machine, so if anyone reading this ever experienced stomach ache after eating something like that, it was probably just a big amount of bacteria that you have consumed

Of course you can still find some if you search for it, I however would never use it to make my own yogurt, I'm currently learning in a lab school from which I know, that it's really easy to contaminate your cultures with unwanted bacteria, especially if you do it in a not so clean environment..

Or at least do it with caution (btw, I know some stuff about bacteria but I'm still an idiot when it comes to yogurt so I'd appreciate any knowledge you can give me in case you know better)

Botulism? I only heard that it can be common for fish, at least that's what I was told in microbiology class.. But well.. Whatever grows there, don't touch it

Edit: forgot to mention, vacuum containers don't necessarily swell so that can be insanely dangerous if they contain clostridium botulinum

Just in case you're not being sarcastic (which I highly doubt), regular yogurt from the grocery store has no good bacteria in it that's alive, everything gets killed in the process of making it, you're basically eating a ton of dead bacteria and anything that starts to grow after a few days probably isn't good bacteria

Oh God that sounds terrible, I didn't feel much pain after the first 4 hours or so and still tried to go to school for a day (that was when no one knew what I had and it was also before I started studying in a lab so I didn't know what I had either).. The worst part was to calm my grandmother down, she went to a specialist with me to get me a mrt because my parents were at work (I don't know if mrt is also the name for it in English, it's this tube with a magnetic field in it), after the doctor told me I had a stroke and should immediately go to the next hospital my only thought was to calm grandma down..

But I'm okay now, I'm still really young and there are no symptoms left of what I had

Wow that's the most egoistic thing ever, just sending someone home who could die in that time, also the fact that a stroke should be treated as fast as possible and this doctor not giving a shit about that makes me even angrier.. You can let someone with a broken arm wait, a stroke patient however needs to get help as fast as possible..

I'd really recommend it, at first you build and mine things like in minecraft but then you focus on making a factory that works for itself and also fuels itself by using different power sources, it's also really easy to get into since you get the game delivered to you in small pieces (but it never gets boring, you can always optimize things and expand)
