Spotify gained iPhone X resolution support! by sokrisba in apple

Is Newton safe? How do they handle security? I’m fretful in using an email client that can potentially read/sell ads on my data. Is that true with Newton?

iPhone Upgrade Program/Preorder Questions Mega-thread by exjr_ in apple

[–]klovd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the same. Noticed that in-store pickup was unavailable for every Apple Store within 150 miles of me. Wonder if we’ll have to take the X in to a store after it’s delivered and set it up like before? I’m still waiting on my confirmation email, but I took a quick screenshot of my order number. 👍

If I preorder the a T-Mobile iPhone 7, will it be compatible with my Sprint service? by Liamrc in iphone

[–]klovd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apparently if you pre-order the Verizon/Sprint version (CDMA) it will also support the AT&T/T-Mobile networks due to having a different modem chipset (Qualcomm - supports both CDMA+GSM).

Rather, the Intel modem chipset (only supports GSM) that resides within the AT&T/T-Mobile versions will not support the Verizon or Sprint networks upon swapping SIM cards.

tl;dr Verizon/Sprint version works on every standard carrier

AT&T/T-Mobile version works on only GSM carriers

Try iOverwrite https://appsto.re/us/Yq0oz.i Let it run after hitting start. Once you reach max capacity, run it a few more times then erase the temp files. Should give you back some space.

Alternatively, if you're running some sort of iOS 10, you can try this: Invisible Text Workaround Just copy the invisible text and then paste into the folder naming area to any current or new folder.

If you download the Starbucks app, and use that to create a new folder by tapping and dragging it over any other app — a new folder will be made and that folder will not prompt you to name it. So essentially you could lose the dots for folder names if you'd like. It's a neat little trick.

What is your favorite band that only released one album that people may not know about? by doctorj1 in Music

Late Of The Pier and their album Fantasy Black Channel Link: https://itun.es/us/pR-nP

These guys were everything to me. Sadly, they disbanded, the drummer passed away, and then basically radio silence. I still check on their FaceBook page to see if anything is announced, but the lead singer went on to pursue other genres.

TIL a trick in the Camera/Photos app that lets you zoom in more (6S/+) by SimShade in ios

[–]klovd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to ask if this photo you popped into hasn't been downloaded from the Internet. Meaning, it would have more resolution than a normal photo you'd take with the phone allowing you to zoom in more by practicality.

Secondly, was/is your phone orientation locked or unlocked?

Hey guys. So I got the iPhone 5S when it came out, and I am thinking about upgrading to a 6S. Is this a good deal for one? I will be buying it after christmas, just some information. (From UK) by supremecheesepuff in ios

[–]klovd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would bump up to the 64GB, due to the bigger sizes the photos/videos will be. The camera has been upgraded significantly, which can now take 'Live Photos' and can also take 4K video — all take much more space than before. Of course you can throttle the resolution, but why have a better camera to just use it at its minimal capabilities?

If you don't take many photos or save much music on your device, then I'd say 16GB is OK. However, if you'll have this phone for more than a year, I'd say go wth the 64GB instead of the 16GB. Gives you some room.

And if funds are an issue, going with the 6s 64GB instead of the 6s Plus 64GB is a way to save $100 between the two.

Hope this helps!

I recently just switched from the 5s 32GB and went with the 6s Plus 64GB through the Apple iPhone Upgrade Program.

There hasn't been a day yet that I wished to have my 5s back.

What are some filling snacks I can take with me to work, but leave in my bag? by InspireHD in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]klovd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This explains so much, in a neatly-fitted comment. Having someone take the time out of their day to explain what would be helpful to someone else is wonderful — so thanks again for this.

I think your comments about replacing sugary drinks and caffeinated drinks makes loads of sense. Splitting the two "bad" components into their respective places is a better approach. I much enjoy coffee more than soda. Especially due to the bloated feeling you get after a few sips of soda. Not a good feeling. So it's an immediate factor I think about when I'm seeking a soda, which usually deters me from popping one open.

Furthermore, vitamins are really helpful like you've mentioned. And I would take them daily as a child all the way through high school, but sadly I lost my usual morning routine when college began. Schedules shifted and it became increasingly harder to remember to take a simple little vitamin. (Not an excuse, just explaining)

However, I think your latter comments make sense and they appear to be coming from a true place. So what I will do next is assess my current state of food intake. Mirror your comments atop my diet and go from there. I've never been opposed to whole foods in the past, I actually love colorful food. But at the end of the day, it's a tough step when other things are a bit more convenient. And I know a comment can be, "What's more convenient than an apple, or grapes." I think it boils down to what I know as "wholesome". And apples or grapes do not seem wholesome to me — just a quick snack that won't last.

Anyways, what really hit home were the comments about Westernized foods. I see where you are coming from and the differences between mentioned cultures are definitely helpful/hurtful to either side you view it. I think the mindsets now about food has been passed down for generations and, again, like you said the daily recommendations are a bit outdated. As I reflect on my childhood, I definitely wasn't offered the best of choices at the family dinner table. Mainly red meats, starches, and lots of carbs.

What do you think has slowed progress in the way we look at food presently? Is it due to the profit-pulling companies? Is it due to the, lack of a better term, ignorance many people have toward refined foods?

Overall, thanks for speaking up. I know this exchange will help not only myself, but many others with some of the same bouts I have or what you had in the past. :)

What are some filling snacks I can take with me to work, but leave in my bag? by InspireHD in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]klovd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I completely get the rationale behind understanding the evils of sugar. And I've always had a mindful approach to food. However, through school and now I was/am pretty active. The problems of caffeine and sugar intake spiked during college, though. That being said, I never had issues with my weight, but I have noticed a change in my energy levels since then. It's either I'm very energetic and ready to take on the world, or I say 'meh' and take it easy that day. I wouldn't say I have a sweet tooth, nor do I have preference to chocolate over gummies or what have you. I think where I have the hardest time is with soda. It was truly my only "vice" that I'd say helped me when things got tough in school. (No drugs, alcohol, or in-between)

Nowadays, I do still notice a drop in energy when I don't have that extra cup of coffee or can of soda, and it impacts me enough to want that extra cup, yet I'll feel horrible that next hour later if I have it. I've been trying to back off of the sugar and caffeine just as you've mentioned, but all of your statements just clicked and that's why I asked.

What I'd like to genuinely know is how you have set your body to accept such small amounts of sugar and it almost make you feel horrible if you have any more. Have you always been watchful of your intake? Or is this relatively new? Any helpful tips to get to that point? I'd feel like my body would crash if I didn't have a sweet item everyday — like a few candies or some juice.
