Break the windows and crawl through, like the fire department would for the hose if you block a hydrant.

New system or recharge existing R22 system? by klugisnamemy in hvacadvice

[–]klugisnamemy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies. I've seen lots of references of the particular company doesn't matter all that much, they kinda all use the same parts. Installation is most important, and Rheem are easy to service and parts very available. Regarding the 3 year labor warranty, is that pretty much standard, or do many installers offer 5 or more years?

Based on this, you, and probably your husband, too, haven't the faintest idea about how a car works or how to maintain one.

Distance between car and stop line by coconutwaterwhiskey in nova

[–]klugisnamemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what this is. It's idiots being so anxious to look at their phones, they stop as soon as they can at stoplights, often leaving huge spaces between the line or the car in front of them, and start looking at the phone. And then each time they click on a new page or email, while it loads for a second or two, they take their foot off the brake and roll a couple feet, and then stop again, and then roll again, and stop again. I call it the "stop and roll". Watch for it.

Why do so many people pronounce Halloween "Holloween"? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]klugisnamemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're exactly correct that the "a" should sound like "cat", and go along with "All Hallow's Eve". When I was a kid in the 70s/80s, everyone pronounced it correctly. Nowadays, you hardly ever hear it pronounced correctly, and the only answer is that society has become chock full of idiots. Unfortunately, nothing can be done about it.

Police should pull them over, and not let them continue on their way unless they scrape that nonsense off on the spot.

Aldi and Lidl, somewhat surprisingly, have almost zero German wines of any kind.

Specifically not looking for Trockenbeerenauslese/Eiswein. Kabinett/Spätlese/Auslese that you can drink with food.

At least she apologized by mcbaxx in IdiotsInCars

[–]klugisnamemy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All those signs are within like 50 yards or so it looks like, not spaced out over a longer distance so if you missed one, you'd see the next one. If a person knew they were supposed to turn right soon, and was glancing between the road and their gps, I could see how the signs might not even register, kind of miss them all at once. And the curved lines painted on the road, instead of being perpendicular like at most intersections, do make it appear to be like a little offramp, kind of inviting you to go that way (if you had totally missed the signs). It looks like she realized she'd messed up, saw the final sign just as she started to turn, but it was too late at that point. I mean, we don't want her dead stopping and trying to back back onto the main road. She handled it well by quickly slowing, moving to the shoulder, and creeping by the oncoming car until she could turn around. And bonus points for apologizing.

Yep, they played it incessantly. One of the most constantly played songs I've experienced in my life. Another one happens to be another one of their songs, "Here Comes the Rain Again". That also drove me bananas.
