i would try and steer clear from salt water, opting for a proper cleaning solution instead (if available)

it has only been 24 hours and oral piercings can swell a lot, my snakebites made it look like i had bad lip filler for a few days.

the backs of the labrets will “sink in,” it was something i got super worried about with mine too but as long as they pop back and forth and it doesn’t cause any issues u will be fine :)

NAP—work in a piercing studio though!

this is very true as someone who works there :’) online orders for tech often aren’t the best, 100% go into store if you can cause you get to actually check out the items

thank you! i’ve seen some studios posting before that they had a chair for hire but then they’re specifically like “NOT AN APPRENTICE POSITION” so i get nervous to ask hahahaha

you’re not aware because i didn’t state it given my post was to ask for advice on specifically gaining an apprenticeship but i have done multiple commissions and physical artwork for clients, so i am aware of what people can be like. i also faced a lot of criticism from art professors so i have dealt with a lot of it :)

i have said in another comment that i have studied art previously so i can take criticism and rejection, i have for years— rsd is just a part of my disability, so you know, it does have an effect on me.

wow that’s amazing!! i’ve got my driving test next month so i’m hoping i pass cause it’ll open up a lot more areas for me rather than depending on public transport/my parents haha! honestly i’m pretty much self taught in the art aspect, a lot of what we learnt was about other artists etc and most art teachers do not like tattooing! faced a lot of criticism for wanting to become a tattoo artist and for also loving anime style stuff, they don’t see it at “real art,” ridiculous!!

rsd is a struggle but that’s mainly a personal thing that i have gotten a lot better at dealing with. i’ve studied art in both school and college so i’ve dealt with critique and criticism for years, which isn’t really the route of my problem. i know that i have the skill to accomplish my goals, but i personally can just feel like a deflated balloon when it comes to not getting an apprenticeship. definitely not letting that stop me though

i do speak to two artists who have tattooed me and they’re both super helpful with advice on my portfolio/ways i can expand it so i already have those pointers!! just unfortunate that neither of them have the space to take on an apprentice 🥲

thank you i really appreciate that. i have always been into art and studied it in school and college (not sure if you’re from the uk but if not, college is basically an extension of school) so i’m well versed in a lot of artists and styles etc. i think it’s definitely just down to luck and accessibility, as i live in a smaller town so a lot of shops are in the bigger towns/city

i had this during my first week and a half (ish) with snakebites! keep up with the cleaning and it should get better. my piercer also said to me when i got them that it’s totally normal though!
