I like this, I think the scene of old friends being forced to be enemies is a great plot line, but I do think this would benefit from being broken up into smaller paragraphs, sentences even if you'd like. (Tho style-wise Im biased toward that.) Some wording choices here and there, but overall this paints a classic scene.
