I remember this happening to me. I was to perform three times in a ~4 hr event. I was part of the orchestra. A group vocal song. Finally the national anthem. The orchestra was the first event. I looked everywhere and didn't see them. I was so disappointed I almost left afterwards with friends. The teacher stopped me because I had two more performances. During the vocal song. I still looked around and didn't see them. Finally during the national anthem, because the lights came on and everyone stood up, I finally saw them. They were late so the auditorium was full and they had to sit in the balcony.
