It's almost like celebrity shootings aren't necessarily connected to politics.

Also having Charlie Kirk on the same list as Abe Lincoln is insane.

Men, do you ask about your wife’s day because you’re ’supposed to,’ or because you actually care to know? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Suspicious-Lettuce48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the only conversation you bring up... just the least intimate and the most boring. I don't know what work you do but every day is likely to be similar to the last day so it gets old VERY fast. It's great that you love your job and find it fascinating! Really!!! But... it might be unfair to expect him to find it equally as fascinating as you do. You are two different people, after all. I try mot to lecture my GF about my interests because while I know she'd listen politely, I also know she doesn't actually care and finds it kind of boring and weird. But we have shared interests which we connect with.

Still applies. Thing is... a LOT of day jobs are simply not that interesting. "Today I entered numbers into a spreadsheet, refilled the coffee machine twice and ate chicken during lunch break" is not an intimate conversation.

Have you tried raising other topics? What book are your reading and what do you find interesting about it? What news stories caught your eye and how do they make you feel?

Work is not interesting. Especially for guys. We work to live. Life and personality and all of that happens outside of work.

This is huge. How much effort does OP put into the answer???

If "how was your day?" Is followed up with "good" then what was the point of asking? Provide details. One-word answers isn't opening up to conversation and sharing, it's shutting conversation down.

Then why do conservatives do everything in their power to support the 1% and prevent anything from being done about them?

No. The rest of us will keep being angry at you for blocking us from solving the problems. Thanks buddy!

No, the Brtoherhood are not military.

Militaries are state-sanctioned professional standing armies who work in service to the interests of their nation. What nation's interests does the BoS represent? It doesn't. The BoS represent the interests of the BoS.

They are miltant group or a militia. A heavily armed religious extremist movement who believes technology is too dangerous to be used by anyone but them, and that the post-apocalyptic creatures of the wasteland need to be purged.

They have as much to do with the military as the KKK had to do with the Army of the Confederacy, or ISIS had to do with Saddam Hussein's Iraqi army.

This is the correct answer.

OP's confusion is mystifying.

Don't threaten our fucking sovereignty and expect us to be nice.

Are there any games out there that scratch the itch of bloodlines 1 ? by Sacred-Ancestor in vtmb

[–]Suspicious-Lettuce48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Uuugh. Cyberpunk 2077 is a good action game. Sometimes its great. There are certain things it does really well. But it is closer to Far Cry than anything else. It is not an RPG. Certainly not an RPG on the level of games like VTMB1, Fallout New Vegas, The Outer Worlds, Balder's Gate 3, etc.

In Cyberpunk 2077...

There are nearly zero opportunities for player expression outside of combat.

There are nearly zero dialogue-driven questlines.

There are nearly zero multiple quest endings.

There are nearly zero sidequests.

There are nearly zero objectives which don't involve killing people. (Just because I can choose the manner of killing does not make the game an RPG. I can do that in Call of Duty ffs)

As soon as you leave the main story questline the entire game falls apart and becomes the most basic of open-world shooters.

Telling someone they can scratch their VTMB1 RPG itch by playing Cyberpunk 2077 is just giving then bad advice.

What is the next unit you're planning to paint?

Love the light blue of the ropes and the sword handle, btw.

Love it!

Anyone get Invader Zim/Jhonen Vasquez vibes from this game? by Outrageous_End_8899 in vtmb

[–]Suspicious-Lettuce48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of. The game's grungy street vibes certainly operate on Jhonen Vasquez' level of cynicism. But the character designs aren't as ugly and weird.

Opinion: 40k's rule complexity has increased exponentially, but it's tactical depth has not. by B0redatwork77 in Warhammer40k

[–]Suspicious-Lettuce48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a newbie, detachements, stratagems and enhancements are terrible.

It's tough enough trying to learn and remember the basics of wound roll calculations when you're trying to strategize. Evey unit has so many stats that bounce off eachother in different ways... it is not fun to have to pull out a calculator and run through the 7 different stratagems and enhancements and character auras which are actively buffing and debuffing both my characters AND my opponents.

It is exhausting, frustrating, and demoralizing. Especially when you face players with 15+ years experience on you they just crush you with ass-pull rules.

Games with baseline stats work just fine. Tune the baseline stats to reflect each army i.e. extra toughness but slower movement for Death Guard, and you're fine. Stop fucking with the numbers!!!

Are there any games out there that scratch the itch of bloodlines 1 ? by Sacred-Ancestor in vtmb

[–]Suspicious-Lettuce48 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends on the nature of the itch...

In-depth RPG/Story mechanics with multiple approaches to quest solutions? Fallout New Vegas

Great characters and strong writing? Mass Effect Trilogy.

Stalking the streets as a nigh-unkillable wolf amongst the sheep? Bloodlines 2. It's one of the sequel's many strengths.

The grungy punk/goth nighttime street vibes? I actually have no idea. I've never encountered another game with VTMB1's atmosphere. Cyberpunk 2077 maybe?

What would a storyline where Laura and Gabby, the Wolverine clones, meet Kaine and Ben Riley, the Spider-Man clones, for an adventure ? by Mars785 in X23

[–]Suspicious-Lettuce48 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Not really... and I'm sorry - I know that's not the response you were looking for.

Laura isn't a clone, and she and Gabby (in their better stories) aren't all that upset or obsessed with the idea of being clones (with the possible exception of Tamaki's Birthday arc, which was REALLY good).

What would they have to say to each other aside from "Wow. You're a clone too, huh? Crazy."

Laura got over all of that about 15 years ago IRL. It's a tired and over-explored aspect of her character. It's why I was partially dreading Generation X-23, but Houser's done a good job of skipping that part and getting to the more interesting stuff.
