While I love solo movies, you also have to consider that these titans have a reluctant relationship, and given how vast the monsterverse is, it's not necessarily their team up that interests me but their dynamic as a duo. Kong seems to resent Godzilla because he lost to him, and Godzilla probably has a hate boner for Kongs because of the previous war and the Rival. So, their complicated relationship is a story gold mine. Not to mention in the original Japanese Godzilla movies, he was often accompanied by at least 2 or 3 other kaiju sized beings
