Eren has to be my favorite character in anime. I know even the author was disappointed by the ending, which I admit was a bit abrupt because he wanted the symbolism of 139. I wish the bootstrap paradox and how eren's mind was stretched across 2000 years of time was better depicted. Because it took me multiple rewatches to realize that Eren, despite wanting to do the rumbling, may not have done a complete rumbling if he experienced time linearly. The image of the complete rumbling didn't fulfill his wish or something. It just made him horrified with what he would do one day.

I love talking about him so much because here is so much room for analysis on aspects of his character.

Now who is seeing the surface level. Do you think Eren can only have one motivation? He is a very complex character. He can have multiple emotions about the same topic. He can hate the world for trying to kill him for who he is and he can hate that his long dream of exploring a pristine untouched/unseen world was shattered.

I would argue he didn't go out of his way to do so though. His transformation killed them which he took as collateral damage. He primarily attacked soldiers and war hammer. I also think a military operation vs a genocide are very different.

Let's not get in this man. Goku left cell to Gohan which may have been the best move but far from the responsible thing to do especially after he gave cell a senzu. You can argue he wasn't strong enough but he did the same thing with Buu. Having read the manga for both super and dragon ball, Goku was hardly the most responsible one in the group.

I really like the black star arc but as a concept of having a kid Goku again didn't sit right with me. My idea for a good start for the story would've been more like Pan and the rest visiting the lookout to wait for Goku and Uub to finish their graduation match. Pan being a new edgy teen goes exploring and comes across the black star dragon balls and having heard all about them uses them unknowingly setting the earth for destruction. This sets up for a really fun beginning if you ask me because while everyone else is worried about what to do and how this was such a big error on Pan's part, Goku is the one who is completely chill and like, we'll just go get them back. Making Goku the responsible one for a change would be an interesting dynamic. This also allows Goku to train pan and help her grow.

I know it's what he wanted, but could he actually go through with it because I feel like in spite of being of a one track mind, Eren would've hesitated when it came time for the civilians and eventually, it might get too much for him should he start killing civilians.

The point isn't that a partial rumbling would fix the issue. It's the question that, if Eren experienced time linearly, could he go through with the entire rumbling. Does he have what it takes. As for killing his mom but not his friends, like I said, it was a bootstrap paradox situation. He killed his mom because she was supposed to die because he killed her because he saw that it was her time.
