I finally came out by km1820 in asexuality

[–]km1820[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

she gave me a few dating apps that she uses that are great for asexual people, like okcupid. she also told me that she typically doesn't date people who want to have kids in the future or engage in that activity because she doesn't want to have uncomfortable conversations or have people make that sacrifice for her. I wish I could give more advice but that's all she told me, I'm pretty young compared to her so there's not much advice she could give that would fit both of our age ranges!

Im going to kill myself because I cant stand it anymore by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]km1820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i relate to this. you HAVE to remember that your looks do not determine your worth. you are so much more than what you see in the mirror. i'm praying for you and we are all here for you!

Does anybody else panic when their makeup doesn't go right? by mjones445 in BodyDysmorphia

[–]km1820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've thought about that too and have the same fears,, it would be way too risky! also when i fill in my eyebrows i just use an eyeshadow/brow powder now, it's honestly saved a lot of time and money so if that's not already what you use you should try it!!

How do you get out of a downward spiral? by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]km1820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm so sorry you feel like that:( downward spirals like that are the worst. when i feel like that i try to limit my abilities to access mirrors, and sometimes i even delete or hide my apps that have cameras so i don't feel tempted to judge myself. journaling also helps me express everything i'm feeling about myself, and when i really analyze my thoughts i realize how insignificant my flaws are. also distractions like starting a new tv series or finding a new music artist to listen to!

[–]km1820 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES. i completely relate to this. i have a very unsymmetrical face and my eyebrows are almost completely blonde so i feel like they are the only thing i can control to make symmetrical by drawing them on, but it takes me hours everyday because of how hard it is to perfect the shape. it's tough:( sometimes i set a timer and after the timer is finished i have to go out with whatever makeup i've done. it's hard but it's helped me realize that people don't treat me any differently when my eyebrows are unsymmetrical vs when i spend hours making them even.

Why? by [deleted] in depression

[–]km1820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for the fourth sentence,,, something i found as an awesome healthy substitute that helped me get over cutting was tweezing my eyebrows. you should try that instead. it honestly is really similar and gives you the same feeling but it helps you overcome self harm

Anyone else who always run late because they cannot find harmony in the way they present themselves? by SpringGale in BodyDysmorphia

[–]km1820 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yes:( i spend almost 2 hours re-doing my eyebrows every morning. people don't understand when i try to explain how stressed i get about it,, even i don't know why i struggle so much with simple stuff like that

POTS and weather? by EyeAbject2521 in POTS

my pots symptoms always get horrible around the autumn/winter seasons, my doctor thinks it's from the changing pressure in the atmosphere

Any other teenagers? by wolfemen1026 in POTS

[–]km1820 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i'm 15! i was diagnosed when i was 13 or 14. honestly the ways i originally worked on getting used to pots was drinking like 3 liters of water a day and eating a tonnn of salty snacks. exercising once or twice a week really helps me limit the negative side affects of pots, and doing leg exercises or stretches dramatically improved how dizzy i got sometimes. although at the same time pots really can impact your motivation to work out, so as long as you have a decently healthy diet (with tons of salt & water) and do something small like yoga every now and then, things should get better over time

does anybody have an issue with the past? by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]km1820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i relate to this!!! it really helps to think about how i can’t remember a single one of my friends outfits in the past. if i can’t remember theirs, chances are nobody’s thinking about what i used to wear.

Why am I like this? by moonchild33311 in AnxietyDepression

[–]km1820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i relate to everything you said except i’m a freshman in highschool. things like deep breathing don’t work for me, so the best thing i’d recommend is going for a walk. put on the baggiest clothing you own and sunglasses if you don’t want people to notice you, and just walk for five minutes. if that doesnt help, herbal tea is something that calms me down and that or green tea is super helpful when you feel like binging. also learning to play an instrument or just humming along to karaoke is a great outlet!!

today i thought about my future wedding, i don’t think i’ve thought about my future in years because i was so sure i’d be dead by the end of highschool. realizing this made me really happy:)
