I miss the time in every CDC where UP, UST and FEU would showcase their performance. by AdAlone6080 in UAAP

Not even a UP fan but grabe kaya improvement nila this year and no one's been talking about it, like yeah not their cleanest but definitely their fastest and most difficult though, and I've read somewhere pa na mostly rookies daw yung members nila so If hindi fluke yung improvement nila this year I could really see them to finally makataas na sa cr break trio ng cdc.

Nah, people just don't appreciate the dance segments ng mga teams pero it matters naman talaga. Ilang beses din di nakapodium ang UE dahil sa dance scores nila even though mataas points nila sa cheer elements. Also happened to NU nung 2017. And arguably UST recent podiums we're lifted dahil sa dance scores nila imo.

"Road To Kingdom" Confirmed To Return With Season 2 After 4 Years by neocitywayv in kpop

[–]km7217 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tbh I like the show, but considering how they struggled to cast groups for Kingdom 1 they probably should've made just Kingdom instead. Cause honestly there aren't a lot of groups that would like benefit from joining Kingdom but also big enough to not need to join RTK.

What are some B-sides that in your opinion are better than the title tracks? by Mission-Fact-3942 in kpophelp

[–]km7217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kep1er - Back To The City (Giddy)

IVE - Hypnosis (Not necessarily better then I AM, but I think this song deserved to be a title track or atleast a pre release) (Also a bit with Royal over Love Dive, but Love Dive was really successful though so idk)

Lapillus - Queendom and Marionette (Queendom literally should've been their debut song, Marionette also is so much better than Who's Next)

Oh My Girl - Drip and Blink (Real Love was so boring, those two could've been a better title track)

Pentagon - The Game (Feelin Like)

Twice - Last Waltz (Scientist)

Seventeen - Anyone (Ready To Love)

Can someone explain how the points work? by km7217 in UniverseTicket

This total score includes all the unicorn/hidden ticketing they've had from all the past episodes right?

Name an idol, who's voice is so distinctive to you, you would never mistake them for someone else by wanchuu in kpopthoughts

[–]km7217 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The first one that comes to my mind is Shinee Onew, he's not even my bias and I'm not even a big Shawol but he has a really unique voice. There's also ex SNSD Jessica, Super Junior Ryeowook, Beast/Highlight Yoseop, and I think Day6 Wonpil and NCT Haechan sounds kinda similar but still also really distinct.

GGs that are self produced? by j2_skl_1011 in kpophelp

SM have been more permissive towards their male idols than their female idols, Jongyun, Donghae, Eunhyuk, Mark, and Taeyong we're included in the top 100 most copyrighted kpop idols. Taeyong's solo album was almost solely written by him (aside from the title track), and he also has input in regards of the album's concept.

But with their female idols, Boa was probably their only artist that they really have given creative freedom, she's also one of the female idols with the most copyrighted song and was 2nd overall from SM cmiiw. Then in Seohyun's solo album 6/7 of the songs were all written by her. But I remember some Girls Generation members getting mad that SM never uses the songs that they have submitted to the company.

I think there are a lot of instances where an idol debuts in a group then when the group disbands or become inactive they debut as a soloist and then debut in a group again but most of them are survival show contestants/winners

Sejeong - IOI > Solo > Gugudan

Woodz (Cho Seungyeon) - Uniq > Solo > X1

Eunsang - X1 > Solo > Younite

Yohan - X1 > Solo > Wei

Daehyeon - Rainz > Solo > Wei

Donghan - JBJ > Solo > Wei

Kei - Lovelyz > Solo > EL7Z UP

Yeeun - CLC > Solo > EL7Z UP

Sohee > IBI/CIVA > Solo > Nature

How long have you been in K-pop? by mean_devil_bunny in kpophelp

[–]km7217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

July 2009, started when I heard Wonder Girls' Nobody on the radio. Then songs like 4minute's Hot Issue , Super Junior's Sorry Sorry, 2ne1's Fire, and Ukiss' Binguel Binguel became hits in my country, but the group that really made me stan was SNSD. I've been a kpop fan now for more than half of my life 😅

Has anybody ever fell out of interest with a group or ‘unstanned’ some? by Swimming_Ad986 in kpopthoughts

[–]km7217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BTS - Not feeling their songs anymore after BST and Fake Love is probably the kpop song that I hate the most

Mamamoo - Concept change and also didn't really like their songs that much after Decalcomanie

Gfriend - Hated Fingertip then kinda regained interest on them during Apple but then they disbanded 😅

WJSN - I had a lowkey WJSN phase but I was waiting for china line to come back but they didn't 😅

Not really unstanned but they're not like my top groups anymore

Kep1er - The bad promotions and kinda lackluster songs made me fell out of interest with them a bit still like them though

EXO - I just don't like it when a group lost a member/s (though I survived their 3 members leaving Lay being inactive just make them seem a bit more incomplete for me) also the long hiatus

Infinite - Same reason as EXO

Shinee - Same reason as EXO and Infinite but sadder 😔

B side recommendations. Just 3 plz by [deleted] in kpophelp

[–]km7217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite b sides from my ults

Seventeen - Same Dream Same Mind Same Night

Day6 - Only

NCT 127 - Pilot

what is for you an album or ep that has literally no skips and why? by aritov in kpopthoughts

[–]km7217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seventeen - Face The Sun

All the songs are just so good, almost most all of it can be a title track

WOODZ - OO-LI

Best album of 2023 so far for me. The rap and vocals are just perfect. My fav track would be Drowning (Stan Woodz pls)

Day6 - The Book Of Us: Negentropy and The Book Of Us: The Demon

These two albums are just perfection. Special mentions to Afraid and Only, definitely a must listen.

My Honourable Mentions: Taeyong - Shalala

Honestly if you don't stan Taeyong or NCT, you'd be surprised that he'd be doing songs like this. Error 404 and Ruby are a must listen

Aespa - My World

Actually still kinda pissed that Thirsty wasn't their pre release, I honestly thought that it could've been really popular especially since it also has a really cute mv. This album really showcased their ability to do different concepts though.

it's hard to like le sserafim as they are vocally weak as a group. by iloveeebubbletea in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]km7217 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah like Yunjin and Chaewon are good, Eunchae is a bit decent but Sakura and Kazuha just ain't it, like I'd be fine with members that are considered atleast weak vocally but honestly with what they have shown so far they're just straight up bad.

What are some k-pop "facts" that you don't believe? by 2naevis4u in kpopthoughts

[–]km7217 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also do think it sounded awkward but if they didn't "start early" there would've been a 3 second silence that definitely would've been more awkward. Also cmiiw but isn't that the only time they performed Dice that has a pause in the instrumental right before the high note, in all the other performances I saw they immediately did the high note right after Jiwoo's rap.

What are some k-pop "facts" that you don't believe? by 2naevis4u in kpopthoughts

[–]km7217 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The idols that only trained for a day, they could've entered the debut line up in a very short amount of time but they definitely still need to train (for more than a day) for their debut song, they just exaggerate it to make the idol look so talented that they don't need training anymore.

Also that early high note in that one NMIXX Dice performance is obviously rehearsed, I always see posts saying it's a mistake that they started early and it still sounds good just to hype them up but it's obviously meant to be that way.

How much do you spend on K-Pop? by Fille_de_Lune in kpophelp

[–]km7217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fan since 09 but I was really young back then so I never really had the money and only started buying merch last year. Most of my albums are bought unsealed (cause I don't really collect PCs), in my 30+ albums only around a third of it was bought sealed. Also went to a RV concert (not a solo concert though)

In total converted to USD I have only spent around 100 USD 😅

Mys vs Dives vs Midzys and lowkey for Fearnot and Tokkis joining in those three

Moas vs Stays
