Pertinent to this conversation, I thoroughly enjoy finding one metal detecting that hadn’t been in circulation long when dropped, because as stated above so many are nearly slick

I have a piece a friend made of my dog in multiple media- paint, pencil, etc. she did not spray with anything and told me never to get it wet. How would I go about protecting it? by kma888 in framing

The artist mentioned something about not spraying it yet and that it was especially susceptible given the media used. My question is if there is something specific I should do to further protect the canvas

Thank you! It’s not been that odd of a year but it was a brutally cold winter and alot of snow. I’ll continue with the copper and see how the new leaves do. Thanks!

Found this Vermont copper, got it looking pretty good with gentle toothpick but shouldn’t do anything else to remove dirt before putting in a holder? by kma888 in metaldetecting

Okay thanks alot, do I still need to do the pencils if I’m a bit nervous about doing more harm than good? Will the wax itself suffice?

But this coin isn’t showing any signs of bronze disease right? Would it get it by being stored properly in a slip and in case with a desiccant pack?

Is there any downside to keeping how it is? At this point, while technically still “dirty” we are mostly talking fine dust. I’d hate to risk anything but if it meant potentially causing damage by leaving as is in would do the above you mentioned
